Hi all.
I’ve recently started shopping and posting here.
I’m 40, married (to a woman) with kids.
I’ve always suffered from sexual shame and in the 20 years I’ve been with my wife I’ve suffered from ED.
Its got progressively worse and that’s what brought me here.
I’ve always been ashamed of my own libido. I’ve had a very unhealthy emotional upbringing so find any desires or emotional states a source of shame. I was sexually assaulted by a guy when I was 17 and I’m not sure the extent of the effect of this.
Initially I’ve bought a cock ring and some lube but I’m open to suggestions.
Reading other people’s comments have been eye opening for me, trying to normalise my own desires.
Hi there and a warm welcome @Midlifecrisis1 there will always be plenty of support and non judgemental advice or comments for you in the forum ! Sorry for the issues you have faced and I hope we can help in any way . But welcome and enjoy
@Midlifecrisis1 Hello and welcome to the forum. I am fairly new here but everyone seems to be very nice and helpful. Have you ever been to a therapist to discuss issues? They could probably help you with navigating. Hopefully your wife is loving and understanding.
Nothing in your past or current status to be ashamed of, hopefully you will find the forum enlightening and learn to find more pleasure in your sexual desires.
Welcome to the forum! Quite a few have shared their ED experiences and advice on here (whether psychological or due to medication, if supplements helped, good toys to use with ed, etc). If you try some different search combinations, you’ll probably find some helpful threads I’d definitely recommend giving this sexual happiness podcast episode a listen
Hi @Midlifecrisis1 welcome to the tribe. It is a helpful environment to ask all the questions you want, never feel ashamed.
Everyone is different and I am sorry to hear about the events that you experienced.
Take it slow and keep an open mind.
Happy Christmas!
