Separating it out would pretty much exclude all the solo sexers from the main topic, which seems a bit rough beans. Sex is sex is sex.

Sounds like you are trying to get into Bill Clinton territory there.
Of course penetrative sexual acts are different from solo masturbation, mutual masturbation and masturbating for an observer (and please don’t think I am excluding all the other sexual acts that people enjoy).
There are numerous threads on various different sexual acts. Perhaps the topic of the thread you reference should be changed to penetrative sex and we should be less pedantic and accept the spirit of the new thread.
