Oh god, it's started already...

A lovely idea but I'm a bit too old for their regulations and I have children here and his second love is the sea which is his livelihood ( he captains some of the really big cat and trimarans round the Queensland coast)

Eeeee I have a boyfriend for valentines this year!! I don't really care about valentines day, not bothered about cards or presents or going out. Just spending it with him will be lovely :) xx

I love Valentines day! We don't do anything in the way of presents really, just nice romantic night in together (which to be fair we do all the time) sometimes a night in a hotel but just love the whole romance of it all :)

I think Valentines day is good but dont you feel its just become commercialised and a money making exercise ?

Do we really need a special day to plan to do something for the one we love ?

Surely its just the little things we do spontaneaously through out the year that really shows how much we care

I dont recognise Valentine, I dont care about Valentine and when I have partner I admit I do hope he will not care either. I guess its partly because I am from different culture, it was imported and therefore I am just ignoring it. My country has the 1st May as the day but we dont do anything that much special, its just tradition to kiss under a blossoming cherry tree.

I personally am trying to make special things for my partner all year round when I have one and Valentine is just another day for me.

Is the first of May tradition, the same one with that dodgy sounding 'tradition' that you mentioned ages ago? I can't recall the name of it at all, but it was where the women are whipped with willow branches?

The whipping is the Easter tradition, this one is different

It has become commercialised as has every other holiday if companies can make money out something they will.

But no we don't need one day to show people we love them and i think people that really are in love do show it all year round including Valentines day which i take for what it is. A bit of fun :)

I am planing already.. I need a lot of money for my desires and I must plan on time..

All year round romance works best for us, but we do buy eachother gifts...I have my LH order already placed. :-)

Valentines? Load of rubbish. Bah Humbug, It's my birthday! Yippee. And I'll be in the sun.

Valentine's is just another day for me personally, I don't see why it's so special. Surely you should love someone 24/7 and not just make a big deal out of one random day in the year?

I have made myself a wishlist though that I will order before Valentine's spice my day up!

It's my 1 year LH anniversary on Valentine's Day too!!

Never had a gf on valintines day so ive never done anything, i agree with you though HE, why should you have to wait for a certain day to show that you love someone it should be 24/7.

Ive only ever been with 1 person over valentines n he wasnt the type to show affection, so was wasted then. But i agree, its silly to say 'i love u' on just one day, if you love them you tell them everyday

Ive never received anything for valentines, dont expect to, but i think if you have busy lives and struggle with time to dedicate to each other its nice to be able to focus on something to celebrate together, in that sense anyway

But overall i think its a money making scheme, lol

I need some ideas... last year I was pampered to the max... bed of roses, at least 2 hours of 'me' time until I couldn't take anymore, and a romantic morning watching the sun rise on the beach...

So I need ideas as its my turn to organise something romantic :)

valentines pressies all bought and wrapped ,

me and the OH don't usually do anything for Valentine's day, we exchange cards and that's about it, doesn't bother me coz I'm not romantic and as for nookie - that only happens once every blue moon, but I'm ok with that too

I think I'll make an effort this year actually. We had a rubbish christmas die to work so better get my thinking cap on!

meaning... ideas people!

VALENTINES!!

Today I was in Tesco and saw Mr Kiplings French Fancies in a pink box with the 'love' ribbon.

Moonpig are offering cop out blokes the opportunity to buy a card, chocs, balloon and flowers for £25 too

and at my work we have the valentines menu displayed on the bar.

SO who's planning already??!!

We've been planning Valentine's since about August... *blink*

I'm all done, hotel is booked for 3 nights, meal booked for one night, pictures booked for after the meal and tickets to see a band and a show on the other two nights.

Gift wise I've finished buying all of the goodies for the "Naughty Valentines Day Hamper" that I'm making for my OH, I've bought all the stuff to build/display the hamper and now just need to get a card and I'm done.

I don't really go the chocolates or flowers route, don't get me wrong it's a nice idea but there not for us :). A good friend worked in a florist and the mark up on flowers for Valentines Day is a joke, even more so when sites like LH have offers on so u can get more for cheaper!
