Looks like we tried to upload a review photo that was a bit too racy, we didn't think it was bad but evidently it was. We respect the decision, obviously, but it must make it tricky to show the wares off!

Ah. Racy little number:) I can imagine why they might reject it, as you say it's not easy to get a "safe" view of that I guess.
LoveHoney - Bot explains: Sorry! We have to be very careful about nudity in any and every form as it ends in rapped knuckles for LoveHoney from the Google overlords.
Our site is classed as 'retail: adult novelty' and if we get caught with too much flesh on display we will have to change to the classification of an adult/pornograpic site, which means tightening security even further, putting warnings throughout all of the pages and maybe even getting rid of user uploaded images all together!
LoveHoney - Bot recommends: You never see a nipple in the google express.
Maybe you could wear another thong underneath, like red or white [or even a black one if you wish] that highlights the front corsetry of the product whilst not actually showing any front lady flesh ?
I think it would be the, ahem, front feminine skin that's visible through the ribbon that would be the problem
Good luck! xxx
Oh, we don't have any complaints - after all, we don't want to spoil everything for everyone. Thinking hard about it, their system is good, because you run it by them and so avoid any problems.
We just were a little surprised, that's all.

Ah! LoveHoney - bot beat me to it. To it still doesn't explain fully why the models of product pages can show such images as this http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=16510
or this http://www.lovehoney.co.uk/product.cfm?p=16348
??
LoveHoney - Bot says: These are product images from the supplier with any hint of labia concealed or edited out. The photograph uploaded by Belle_djour featured labia.
We've removed Google Adwords from some products so the images can be a little racier (for example, ones where the detail is actually on the part covering the labia) but we have to be careful that we do not push the boundaries too far or we will no longer be able to advertise, which means we lose sales, when means that we have to increase prices to cover this loss of sales, which means unhappy customers - which we definitely don't want!
The rules for uploading can be found here.
I always think it's funny that in the media and in public we're allowed to see men's nipples but not women's! At least our nipples can actually be functional in a non-sexual sense...you'd think if anything the rule would be the other way round!
Nonetheless well done Belles for not taking the photo rejection personally and I salute your commitment to showing off the beautifull Mrs Belle

Thanks KP - remember we enjoy it too!

im sure you have lovely labia!!
unfortunately, though, they cant be seen on a public place like the shop!! x

We were discussing this - actually, anyone below the age of 16 can buy and legally read the Sun newspaper, which blatantly has nipples on view on page 3. Not that we're trying to get LH to change, but there is quite a bit of ambiguity about what is and what is not considered decent.

I think the problem is that google is American where they have strange laws when it comes to nudity. For instance you will not see any trace of pubic hair, labia or nipples on mainstream TV. Whereas if you were to pay for a sex channel in a motel you can watch any old porn you like.
Also you dont see women topless on the beaches in California or Florida -its just not allowed (unless its all changed since I was last there).
Our laws are a little more relaxed, nudity is allowed on British TV -but very rare these days compared to say the 70's.
Always makes me laugh, you can see someone getting their brains blown out countless times but are not allowed a glimpse of a solitary nipple.
Shame.
That's true. When my American friend was over for Christmas he kept saying 'you wouldn't be allowed to show that on American tv'. I think the rules are stricter for online retailers. The big difference with the sun is that they are not trying to sell sex toys. It puts the images into a different context x
Even though it is a bit pitty that in 2010 we have these ethical problems over the net, I do trust The LH TEAM. pitty for the ones which would like to show themselves in these but there are always other places where to show (and advertice this GREAT SITE).

Love that picture Belle, oh to be pulling/liberating those threads, great strings and padding!!!

I wonder if the difference is that you have to BUY The Sun, and they probably think most kids wont, whereas the internet is free and they can look up all sorts!
Still, as far as I'm aware, porn shows up on Google (not a porn fan so I'm only assuming), and since they only sell toys to over 18's, it shouldnt really matter if this site shows up as being that kind of site, but oh well. I can see why they'd want to keep this site clean. Clean as a sex toy website can be, anyway!

only sell toys to over 18's? dont be so sure!
there is no way of verifying someone's age when they buy online and you can get a debit card at 14. i would bet that there are plenty of school kids that buy on here. and good luck to them. better that than having unprotected sex!! x
