Hi im looking to surprise my partner with an app controlled vibe. Its his annual birthday night out soon and we will be going to the same place but in separate groups so thought i would surprise gim with it before we left but unsure which to go for. Ive been reading reviews for months and got nowhere so just wondering what opinions are here please

Initial thoughts:
First a question, is this something for you to wear and him to control or something for him to wear and you to control?
Secondly, if you are looking at long distance app control, i.e. his phone long distance to yours and yours via bluetooth to the toy (or vice versa)… you might have to surprise him a little more in advance of just going out as you’ll probably both be busy getting ready and it can take a bit of time to sort out the connections. Unless of course, you already both have the apps for different toys and you’re just looking for a suggestion of a good toy to add to the collection.
Lastly, if you’ve been reading lots of reviews have you narrowed it down to a short list?

Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with app controlled vibrators (yet) but I just wanted to say welcome to the forum. I hope whatever you go for, you both have a very fun evening ahead! 
We’ve been lucky enough to test quite a few app controlled vibes…and the toy itself aside WeVibes app seems to be the best we’ve used at the moment. It does depend on the toy you have but it has a really good set of controls that allows you to easily control the strength and patterns of the vibrations in one place and in a single ‘move’. Also if you want true long distance play (even if in a different country) it offers that too - although it’s more fiddly to setup and maintain connection with. If you’re in close enough proximity to him to use the Bluetooth the id defo recommend WeVibe app controlled toys.
Lovense and Lelo have alright apps to - but don’t have the reliability of connection to the app that I’ve experienced with WeVibe…

We have a wiivibe toy, and it certainly made the weekly shop more interesting!
We gave up on remote and app controlled toys a few years back after trying quite a few (very expensive) versions. We found the connectivity to be very poor and inconsistent. Every time one of us moved out of the very limited range of the controller and connection was lost we would have to completely re-pair the items to get them going again.
Very frustrating and ultimately too much of a faff.

What is your top two toys you’re most looking at to choose from?
i have a wevibe jive, and have had a lot of connection issues with it, like you we also found it too much faff to be bothered with, personally i find the we vibe app to be a let down given how expensive it is,

one bit of advice i would give, is look at the app store reviews as well as reviews for the actual toys, personally i find the we vibe app very poor considering the price of the toys, i have had a lot of connection with my we vibe jive
