The times I’ve done it’s been combination of late nights so it’s been dark and in a secluded/derelict area to greatly reduce the chances of getting caught
There used to be a lake in a national park near where I was living in CA in the early 80’s it had and island in the middle of it, you could hire boats and sail out to this island, my gf at the time was a native to the area and she told me that it was a well known spot for couples to get down and dirty on this island, and because it was an island there was no wildlife there to attack you, we used that spot many times.
