I’ve been trying to incorporate rubbing the head of my penis during my edging sessions to add to the challenge of not cumming but I’m not finding much of a sensation, are there any manual techniques or toys that are good for this?

Depends.
If you’re circumcised then the head will likely only be responsive to heat and deep pressure. The frenulum up to the meatus has a higher concentration of nerves so can respond to light touch. Depends on the degree of circumcision, how much inner foreskin you have and whether the frenulum was removed.
If you’re uncircumcized the head will be sensitive to heat, deep pressure and also some light touch. Plus the frenulum up to the meatus has a higher concentration of nerves and I used to be able to rub that area in a circular motion with the inside of my wrist ( Imagine your penis is lying almost flat along your belly and your wrist is moving round in a horizontal circle ). The wrist skin there is very smooth and the very light friction can, eventually, feel really good. You can build to orgasm but very slowly. Either with lube or completely dry. Just not sticky or it doesn’t work.
As for toys .. the deep vibration of wands are good. Naturally they’re quite good for the deep pressure response of the head but the deeper waves can also pass right down to your prostate. I think you’d like that.
Then theres some toys made for the head alone though I’ve not tried them.
I can also recommend e-stim on your glans. You’ve got to be careful the electrodes don’t touch or you’ll end up summoning beelzebub but other wise, that can feel really good.

I am relearning all this after having a circumcision 11 months ago at the age of 55.
At such an age there is a long time of previous sensations that have now gone, but new ones to discover. The outcome is an “ultra low” cut, so under 2mm of inner skin left (ie the (tightish) shaft goes all the way to the glans) so stimulation is generally to the glans area only.
Agree about the wands, I find standard masturbation rather pointless now, but with my partner’s LH wand that can be directed exactly to the point, such as the remaining frenulum, great results can occur.
Care is needed though as they can be a lazy and addictive way to a release. with her big wand that has a very deep slow rumble, I can ejaculate in under half a minute even with a fairly flaccid penis.
