Porn films

How come Lovehoney don’t do films, is it a licencing law or actual laws that prevent sales on this country? I ordered from Germany all time and get them shipped over

cos it’s not a porn site ???

Plenty of free websites i reckon

It says

Customers often ask why they can’t buy Adult DVDs on Lovehoney. We do not sell any Adult DVDs because although they are easily available on the Internet, it’s not always clear which movies can be supplied legally in the UK.

What is the 18 Certificate?

“18-certificate films can be sold by any UK shop, mail order catalogue or website. 18 films do not feature graphic depictions of sexual activity unless the context is justifiable - for example sex education - and as long as the purpose of the film is not purely for sexual arousal (softcore porn to you and me). Erections are now allowed to be shown but no graphic images of spread female genitals, anuses or anything that is or replicates semen or ejaculation”.

A while back they did do some erotic fiction literature, I had a book of short stories from here which I enjoyed though the writing perhaps wasn’t the best. I think these days, it’s only EL James books and they’re probably because they have their own brand of sex toys to go with.

I think, as @BDSMFetish has linked above it is because it is illegal for British firms to sell R18 films which pretty much all legal porn films are rated as… plus it’s easy enough to find online :woman_shrugging:t2:

It is against the law to have any of these in porn!!!

Agressive Whipping
Caning
Facesitting (Why is this harming anyone?)
Fisting
Female Ejaculation (How sexist is this, it’s ok to watch men ejaculate but not women. I would say this is direct discrimination)
Penetration by Any Object “Associated with Violence”
Physical or Verbal Abuse (regardless of if consensual)
Spanking (why is this harming anyone?)
Strangulation
Urolangia (known as “water sports”)

Apart from the 18 certificate thing, I believe there’s another reason. Selling porn has never been part of Lovehoney’s business model. Ever since they started, the LH “mission” (sounds a bit of a pompous word but it’s the right one) has been to change the way people think about buying and using sex toys and kink-related paraphernalia etc.: to ‘normalise’ it, make it about having fun: a natural part of a healthy lifestyle - and they’ve succeeded. In this respect, they were genuine pioneers. Before LH came along, the main outlets for sex toys were tacky high street shops - or, even worse, seedy and intimidating back-street shops with blacked-out windows - the kind of places that very few people would want to be seen walking into. They typically charged over the odds for often poor quality merchandise …and, nearly always, sold porn - and back then, the only business people willing to take the risk of selling porn were gangsters! LH has always striven to distance itself from those kind of places and that kind of business image. If they were to get involved in selling porn it would send out the wrong message.

It’s also not a horse riding site but we have crops and whips!

I think they’re meant to be used as sex toys. :slightly_smiling_face:

Though some people do genuinely buy stuff from here for their horse…

You can request for Lovehoney to stock something in the Pander to me! … PRODUCTS ONLY, though the answer @BDSMFetish found above makes it seem unlikely in this case. But you never know. :slightly_smiling_face:

And a month on it’s still doing a great job! :+1:
Highly recommended.

To be honest, @oGunnerso I completely see your point, it would be a logical product to stock. I think the amount of discussion threads about it on here show plenty of us enjoy watching porn either alone or as a couple and quality porn would definitely have a market.

It seems the legal issues very much get in the way though so I don’t think it will be happening any time soon.

Are we talking dvds? Or some kind of streaming service?

Introducing Honey+, the new on-demand subscription porn service from Lovehoney. Stream the latest sex-postive, couple-friendly sexy movies to all your devices for only £25 a month.

Join up now for big discounts on all the sex toys and lingerie featured in this month’s films!

 Love that!

Though pay as you go would suit me better than a monthly subscription. That’s rather pricey as I don’t actually watch very much porn so a lot of months wouldn’t be used. It would be great though to have proper feedback from customer reviews on what is actually good and worth watching out there :woman_shrugging:t2:.

It’s such a shame that UK companies aren’t allowed to sell R18 films.

Companies like SexArt (I’m sure other vendors are available but I haven’t found another one as good) make some really sensual films that (in my opinion) can only enhance sexy times and are very sex-positive. They also appear to have very good ethics as far as their actors and actresses are concerned - apparently it’s the actress’s choice as to where the guy finishes, for example - and there are no facials that I have seen. Much more like real life…

It’s also a shame (again, in my opinion) that films like this can’t be used in sex education as surely a couple making love - and there are a few real-life couples on the site - is a better example than some of the crap out there…

Disclaimer: I have no connection to the site I mentioned, we don’t have kids so I have no idea what current sex-ed is like these days (it was pretty rubbish in my day as I recall) and I don’t go searching for sex education on the net!

Could they make money selling a product that you can get online for free?

Some companies appear to make a profit by selling decent products…

You still buy music, don’t you? :slightly_smiling_face:
