Pubic hair shaving help please!

I used to suffer with rashes etc after shaving. So starting using sensitive Veet and after a few months tried shaving again and I never get rashes now. Shave in a bath so skin is very soft.

As previously mentioned a good 5 blade razor and gel is my go too, I use a fusion. Go with the hair or side to side and don’t press too hard, I rarely get a rash or itching and love the smooth feel, trust me it’s worth persevering as the sensation when smooth is fab.

I found that waxing isn't as painful as you'd think. I go for Hollywood. It means less time between growth and I find it easier because no irritation or ingrown hairs.

My wife uses an electric razor for a really close trim but not completely smooth while I shave everything off below the waist most days in the shower. It's just become part of my routine so doesn't take long now.

I use a good quality 5 blade razor with one of the new body shave gels that don't wash off quite so readily, followed by post shave moisturiser.

I change the blade as soon as the lubricant strip starts to fade and never suffer from shaving rash or razor burn.

I've tried most of the good quality removal creams but even the sensitive ones leave a rash so I'll stick to the razor but certainly worth a try but follow the instructions 😳

An update: I got a good quality 5 blade razor and shave gel and it went really well, and the feeling of being smooth and soft down there is totally worth it! (hubby loves it too)

Thanks for your advice and helpful tips everyone

Lil_MissNaughty, glad to hear it worked for you! A bit of advice i will add, buy the male razors and gels, they are often much cheaper, but exactly the same, we all have contours and sensitive skin, the only difference usually is a "Girly" colour!

I've been using a Bic 5 bade disposable but, since there was an offer on, I got a Gillette Skinguard Sensitive to try out. It's only got 2 blades but it has various guards and lubricating strips and it seems to work very well.

Me too. Best razor I have ever tried and I've tried plenty due to sensitive skin.

Any tips for wet shaving the scrotum? That's the bit that has me petrified of shaving at home. Love being bald down there and used to get waxed every 6-8 weeks as a treat but haven't had the chance for years. Definitely going to restart that but in the meantime I'm left with just using a trimmer to get down to a stubble. I'm hyper cautious with the balls however as I really don't want to snag.

See my posts above, lying down in a hot bath really does help with ease of access, manipulation and sight. I done mine an hour ago from navel to scrotum, not a nick! 😉

The thought of shaving your scrotum is much scarier than actually doing it. I have been shaving for 20 or so years now and only a handful of times have I ever knicked anything.

I shave in a shower using normal body soap. I use gilette mach 3 blades, shaving 2-3 times a week a blade lasts about 3-4 weeks before changing.

I tend to shave with the grain first and then against. I find best results if I am holding the skin tight and will usually do multiple passes over the same area to make sure I get everything,

We both use a decent 5 blade razor (various brands available). I have used a disposable razor on my face before due to being away and needs must........wasnt a pleasure. Could have done a better job with a stanley knife.

I shave the whole area from anus to navel daily now. I use A Gillette Sensitive razor and King of Shaves Sensitive gel.

The scrotum is the trickiest bit but so long as you pull the loose skin tight before you shave it there is no problem. It now takes me 2 - 3 minutes daily in the shower.

MandC1989, yes, avoid disposables at all costs!

Thanks WillC, Senator, MandC1989 and rockstar.

Bit reassured now.

Trust me, it's easy!

I hate it all - rashes, ingrown hairs, sensitive skin, the lot. So I don't shave / wax, but I do trim. Good luck if you want to and can find a way which suits you. I'm bucking the trend but I'm blonde and not too hairy, and OH seems fine with that. He doesn't shave either and I love his hairy chest. Each to their own :-)

Hi hope I’m not too late to jump in on this I had real issues with shaving, always ended up with a rash, skin is super sensitive and angry after shaving. So after much research I had it permanently removed with laser hair removal at a salon. Best thing I ever done! Aside from minor regrowth, my pubic area is smooth, soft and rash free 🥳 I would highly recommend looking into having it lasered professionally. I’ve now bought my own home laser hair removal machine and again, best purchase I’ve made in years!
