Strength comes through experience and we learn from it. My one advice would be to not lend cash to someone who is struggling long term with payments unless your happy to not receive any of it back…
For the best it may prove beneficial to not give him anything else and if by chance you do, write it down in a short contract type note and have him agree to sign it so you’re backed if worst comes you need to claim it
