I’m looking for some recommendations for Rabbit Vibrators, I’ve never owned one and really wanted to dabble in it. The only issue is that I live at home with thin walls and need to invest in something quiet but powerful. If you have any recommendations let me know!
We have a “from the same factory” version of the Lovehoney Ripple Rabbit and I would call it quieter. Vibrating toys are always going to have some noise but this ones is pretty reasonable.
Quiet toys comes up as a topic frequently so I wondered if LH could post db values in the specification of toys. I’m guessing the sex toy boffins already get some of this information especially for toys they design/produce. @Lovehoney_Brenna is this something you could suggest. I wasn’t sure where to post this request in the inside LH section. Noise levels are definitely a consideration for us when making a purchase and quite or loud description is not that useful in reviews as it’s more just an opinion
@Lovehoney_Brenna do you know if toys makers readily supply this type of data?
Or would you potentially have only access to the wow tech group Db data?
It would BE interesting to have this, and from a personal point of view, the spinning weight and speed rotation of the vibrating toy would be interesting too.
I bet you’d quickly be able to relate the weight/RPM to toys that may or may not work for yourself.
I also understand that these geeky bits of data might leave some dead cold.
I know this is data that we would have to measure ourselves - so unsure how likely it is to appear on site, however I have sent it over. I’ll send over any other interested comments too - but no promises it will be added to the workflow
Fully understand, it’s beyond the normal specifications supplied on the average adult toys web sites.
I also can see how RPM could misinterpreted by user, 500 rpm with a tiny weight spinning isnt going to create vibrations in the same way a larger weight would at the same speed.
Thinking about it more decibel values could be difficult since they could be challenged by a difficult supplier. Maybe just a LoveHoney loudness scale 1-10. There are free phone apps that could be used for low fidelity measurements and converted to the internal scale.
The trick is reducing the voltage to the motor but not the torque, which reduces the speed of the eccentric weight that gives the vibrations, so it rumbles , just my observation.
