I have noticed every time I eat eggs I get terrible stomach pains about 15/20 minutes after. My Dad did mention to me after I complained one night when he came to visit me that eggs often give people stomach pains, so I decided to look it up.
It seems that abdominal pain after eating eggs is normally due to an egg allergy.
My question is this:
- I have not always had this problem with eggs until recently. Can all allergies just be triggered suddenly ie. can you just wake up one morning with it, or are you born with them?
- Also does anyone else experience similar symptoms after eating eggs?
I am slightly gutted that I have encountered this problem as I love eggs, they are cheap, easy to make and good for you. I would be devastated if I had to stop eating them, but to prevent this stomach pain then I would do right away!
I am allergic to loads of stuff mainly containing sulphites so vinegar ketchup mayonaise any salad dressing pork etc etc etc, I am also alleric to eggs but all these make my skin swell up and crack. It started about 6 yrs ago and gets worse if I get a load of stress.
You can develop allergies at any age. Hormones can change overnight as well as after any significant changes i.e, childbirth, which unsettles your chemical balance thus leaving you hypersensitive to certain chemicals.. c'est la vie unfortunately!
I'm allergic to bio washing powder..only just realised this in the last 6 months, I'd be itchy all over every night, switched to non-bio and all was fine.
I don't have an egg allergy but for some reason I can not eat some stuff - for example egg based cremes (brulee, flan, etc.) - it just gets me sick - I can't even swallow it. The same goes for too oily stuff and for pasta that is not really really thin (for example I could eat spagetti over number 11 - the thinnest possible, but macaroni, lasagne, or thicker spagetti - no way). I don't have an explanation why is that.
My mother has something like an egg allergy - it gets worse with the years - before she could eat cakes or pancakes if they had eggs in it, but nothing that is more egg-y (like flan, or fried or boiled eggs or something). Now she could eat it only if the concentration of eggs is really low in it.
