Hi all, I'd just like to gather some opinions on the best method for dealing with those pesky 'down there' hair-doo's and see if a favourite emerges & also to maybe find out a rough price that ppl are paying for a Hollywood wax :)

Hi Crazyflower, can I suggest that you try the search facility, there have been a lot of threads on this subject fairly recently, so hopefully to will find what you are looking for.
Being a man, this seems to be the best way that I can help you at the moment, best of luck with your search.
HH
Oh thanks V much Cat Lady as I have very sensitive skin which is allergic to a lot of things & thanks HH also I will try and find the older threads - I thought i loooked but obviously not far back enough maybe & still learning how to use this & finding I am (apparantly) a slow learner when it comes to forums :( hoho
I pay just under 20 quid for a Hollywood, depends from place to place a bit but I've tried a few and they've all been about that. I get a wax every month and shave halfway through :) never tried veet xx
I wax at home using Nads brazilian and bikini hard wax, no cloth strips needed. It's great for thick or coarse hairs and leaves you silky smooth
I used to shave but came out with horrible razor burn and ingrown hairs more often than not
I also tried hair removal cream once and it really really hurt my lady bits!!
I think I found the right hair removal method for me at this point, and as long as I use and after shave ointment like Priva Shave or Dare-to-be-Bare, and exfoliate a little, its all good :)
I use

No good if you are trying to get rid of all of it, but, gets most of it for me

Try putting 'shaving' in the search box at the top of the pages, I have just tried this and it pulled up lots of threads.
Another HH HH

LOL thanks HH for all your HH's :)
I tweeze and epilate. It hurts like hell but you get good results that last a few weeks and you can control how much you want to take off. I had a wax once and wasn't happy with the results at all.
I shave a little bit too but it only lasts a day or so and it's more irritating for my skin. Never used veet, I tried it on my legs and it didn't work at all so I wouldn't use it on my bikini line! x
I wax. It costs me about £21 to get a Hollywood done but I'd recommend it! Doesn't come back for ages and if you get it regularly done then you have longer gaps in between. No pesky in grown hairs either! It does hurt but tbh you get used to it, and if you find a good beautician then she won't take very long :) Xx
I've tried hair removal cream down there. Was not very nice at all! And waxing don't work for me. Only thing so far is shaving.
Definately not veet! I used it down there once...and it burnt like hell. Although it does work well on my legs. However it doesn't last that long to be honest. I get nasty razor burn when I shave...so I came up with a little routine to help it, so it might help for you if you have sensitive skin like me (and it does work!). I exfoliate first, then put TONS of good shaving foam on, sometimes hair conditioner is really good to use too. Then if there's ingrown hairs or a razor rash, try putting on a bit of sudocrem after. It does sort it out and makes it less red and irritable. Apart from that, waxing is normally the best option :)
For longer hair I use Magic Razorless cream and for regular use I use a lady shave, once a week. Keeps its all in order. With wearing ladies underwear its not that flattering with bushes and tumble weed everwhere!
I shave, it just seems so quick and easy I cba to try anything else lol
Yeah I used Veet once and had a reaction so never used it again - though I do tend to have fairly sensitive skin. I used to shave but my OH asked me to start waxing. I'm in Ireland and pay €40 (around £33 I think) for a Hollywood. I would never go back to shaving! The results with waxing are amazing and I don't find it painful at all. The OH of course loves it. Also, I found that when the hair grows back a bit its a lot softer than growth after shaving.
i definitly wouldn't use depilatory cream down there to remove the whole lot, for tidying up the bikini line it's fine. personally wouldn't shave either it's too much of a chore i don't like stubble irritation then there's the ingrown hairs i don't relish having to squeeze them out. waxing is the best option it lasts for weeks but it's painful
what i find perfectly adequate is trimming i use a womens battery shaver i got in a pound shop it keeps things trimmed neat and clean enough with out the nasty stubble irritation
I use Magic powder, the Platinum one, You can buy it off ebay. It leaves you really smooth. Just add water to it, then apply the paste. Its commonly used on pornstars.
I have tried everything over the years, veet, wax and wet shaving but have had issues with all of them. I then found a great little electric shaver and I have never looked back. I use it everywhere, bikini line, legs and underarms. It really does make things silky smooth - I wish I had found it years ago.
It is a 'Braun PocketGo M90 MobileShave Portable Shaver with Smart Foil'. I use rechargeable batteries and they last ages.
Hope this helps :)
I've only ever tried shaving, doesn't take long to touch up when I have my morning shower :)
