Recycling DVD porn collection?

Can anyone offer any advice on recycling porn DVDs? We've got a collection of DVDs we no longer watch, there's nothing wrong with them but we've watched them enough. It seems a shame to just thrown them out. Does anyone know of a scheme similar to lovehoney's rabbit recycling scheme for DVDs?

Art ^_^ CD's and Dvd's can be etched onto and then you can use it as a way to print your image onto things. I've seen people cover / tile walls with them, it can look rather good. And they make great mini cake bases too.

But on another note, maybe ask if there's anyone here willing to pay postage for you to send them their way. Or send you a product from your wishlist which would cost thesame to postage prices. Like the Adopt the Toy Thread:

Have you tried sites like Music Magpie (assuming your collection is all legit copies)? Not sure if they'll take a bit of blue, but it'll only take you a minute to try a couple. It's usually pennies that they offer for stuff, but anything's better than binning it all

If you have a blog maybe you could offer them as a competition prize?

Or leave them in an open box outside student accommodation - some horny 20 year olds might appreciate it.

We have a good collection of DVD’s and as always there are some you want to keep and some you would be happy to give away. A swopping of porn DVDs would be a good idea but it’s not always the safest to give your postal address to people…… maybe Love Honey would consider setting up a DVD swopping system? Of course a fee would be needed for admin and effort

Thanks for the advice everyone. I did think of music magpie but my privacy is important to me and I didn't like the thought of people linking my identity to these DVDs. I am chuckling at the idea of leaving them outside of student accomodation!

If Lovehoney permit it I'll happily post the DVDs to someone from here in exchange for an item off my wishlist (the 'Like to try' one). I'll have a sort through tonight and list out the titles I'm offering up to see if anyone is interested.

i could well be interested. i could do with some new titles.

I haven't been to a sex shop in about 10 years, but they used to do it in shops in the London, usually Soho area. So you bought a video (VHS so probably more than 10 years...) and then, once you didnt want it, you could change it for a small fee. Bear in mind, movies could be in the range of £20 then - but it all changed with DVDs, with people selling films in pubs 3 for £5 (and yes there was always a massive porn selection if you asked).

I was a pub manager at this stage, and there were so many ppl selling, so made a deal with one of them: you give me films for free, and I'll make sure you are the only one allowed in here! Lol, perfectly illegal, but it worked a treat for all of us (I was even getting normal cinema movies for the girls behind the bar)

So as DVD killed VHS, Internet and streaming killed DVDs (and will probably kill sex shops) - and I also have hundreds of DVDs in boxes under my bed - wich will never be watched - and absolutely no clue what to do with them hehe

Such is life I suppose ..

Just post some ads and try selling them on the internet. There must be some people who would be interested in your collection.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I've spoken to lovehoney about this and they are happy for me to arrange a swap privately, they can't facilitate a DVD recycle scheme as they don't have an adult licence.
