Relationships with work colleagues

I wouldn't be able to, I need to have my time and space or I get very irritated with him!

Thats my worry with me potentially working with my Mrs in the future

No, we don't have rules and bounderies. The first few years were only about work-work-work, we had no Sundays or nights or festivities. Starting a business can be like that, statistically for the first 3 years you will not have a profit, and that's exactly how it was for us. And besides, if you allow yourself personal time during work with your partner, why can't you discuss work during personal time? Especially if it's on both of your minds. Just as we talked about personal stuff during work, we would talk work during "off time". It has worked for us, we never had any particular rows just because working together even if we don't necessarily agree work-wise with everything. It's a partnership, just as in life, and as long as you comunicate, you'll be fine. Also, we both have our roles in the company and even if we discuss them, we hardly ever interfere with the other's competencies. + work related lunches, dinners, business trips and company meetings are way more fun given the full ownership is just us two! LOL!

Thanks for your honest and insight into your working relationship . Thats sounds great for you two. I have got plenty of time yet about 6 years anyway but I do know, my Mrs has an habbit of having a "bee in her bonnet" and just won't let go some times and that drives me nuts especially when you end up like a broken record repeating your answer over and over again ! lol

Gave up the day job over 20 years ago and set up our own business and my wife and I have worked together from home since then and it worked out just fine. We never put any bounds on where work stopped and family life started or vice versa which was good both ways - it meant I would go on writing code into the wee small hours when needed but also meant when the kids got home from school I could park the work and spend time with them.

I guess it helps that we have very different and complimentary skill-sets - I am by inclination a shed-dwelling technophile and she is good with money and people.

Many thanks for your input

Actually your set up will probably be the nearest to what ours will be . I will be turning my model soldiers painting hobby into a small little business to pay for luxuries like holidays etc. My works pension is fine but it won't get us a holliday if supporting the 2 of us.

So I will need a studio with decent lighting ( not a shed becasue of frost ) so it will be a spare bedroom . This is were I will be spending most of the day with the Mrs being head of despatch ensuring the parcels get to the customers in a timely fashion especially as many will be overseas ( USA ) . She will be doing some of the basic painting on the model soldiers and the scenery work which is a strength of hers. .

This is the carrot I dangled in front of her for early "retirement" ![](upload://ez5kOkpKXRZOxjavAURYmQxVTau.gif)

Sounds like a good scheme. Our business grew out of my hobby too. It doesn't feel like work which helps (though you may need a new hobby eventually). We also thought it would only be a part-time thing for a bit of extra cash but it grew far bigger than we ever imagined and spawned other companies in areas we never imagined in the beginning.

Good luck!

Sorry for bumping an old topic.

I’m sexually involved with a supplier at my work. My boyfriend is fully aware and supportive of it and my guy knows i have a boyfriend and that our connection is just sex.

It really invigorates me seeing him, we don’t have sex at work but he stops by once or twice a week to make deliveries and I get giddy each time he’s there. We have sex once or twice a month and the anticipation of those meetings builds me up to a frenzy.

I know they say don’t dip your pen in the company ink but I’m in a very, very happy place from doing so.
