The cage review isn’t live just yet.
@JoCat sort by “Most recent”, it appears first then
@Grainne , they are quite brief. The dildo for example, I want to know how it feels, is it firm or does it have squish? Is it flexible or ridgid? You say you use lube but does a little bit last the session or does the material absorb it and you need to reapply? How good is the suction cup? What materials have you tried sticking it to? Does it hold the seal or get pulled off? How do you clean it? Is it easy to clean? What is the packaging of the toy like? Etc.
I think the cage one is getting better but, again, you say it’s one size fits all which understandably isn’t ideal but is this too big or too small? Did your OH need lube to get it on or was it easy? You say it was comfortable for the time he wore it, do you think it might have chafed if worn for a much longer period. I understand giving measurements might be more detail than you want to share but potential purchasers would find it really useful to know what size your OH is to get an idea of if this cage would work for them or not. I do like that you gave your perspective in how it made you feel having the keys and the control. This is really useful information that people couldn’t get from reading the product description.
Thanks for that, they’ve always just been at the most recent for me before, random that its changed.
This is a draft that I feel is too wordy. I have had the opportunity to be a tester for the first time but sort of feel I am over doing it. Let me know what info I can drop to shorten up my live post. The product in question is Blowmotion
What you get
I hate unboxing videos so I will get through this part quickly. Package contains the Blowmotion device, a USB charging cable (no charger), and a pair of earbud type corded earphones. The box itself is well made and sturdy, suitable for on going storage keeping the parts together in one place. I noticed on the box the product was made in China however it clearly states “Made in China FOR LOVEHONEY” so there are specifications and quality control involved. The unit itself appears to be well made with no unsightly seams or rough edges and the control panel fits perfectly in the casing. The casing has a matt finish which allows a good grip even with slippy hands unlike some high gloss toys and the sleave is easy to remove, insert, & turn inside out for a thorough cleaning. It is rather girthy to hang onto but not to the point of being a problem. I think part of that is that I have used a non-motorized stroker for years which doesn’t require the same circumference to fit everything in. The one thing I didn’t care for is the charging port. These days and at this price point it should be a USB-c plug. My phone, laptop, speakers, headphones, and one of my adult toys all use the same type cable which I have multiple of around the house. Of my 8 rechargable adult toys, all but one has it’s own proprietary charger with each one different than all the others. An over excited puppy that chews one to bits or you can’t find it one day often requires replacing the toy just to replace the cable. You can source this specific cable online which helps but it does mean yet another cable to keep track of. Many have commented on how loud this toy is but I didn’t find it to be unreasonable given it’s size and all the motor functions going on. Yes, there are almost silent vibrators available that can be used next to your sleeping partner but this is meant for alone time. If it sounded like a food processor I would take issue but I am fine with it.
Audio
I hadn’t read the reviews before aquiring this toy so I wasn’t sure what to expect from the audio feature. Would it be someone talking dirty to me or an amplified version of squishy noises from me penetrating it? It’s actually a recorded loop of a female having sex. It’s a novel approach but I do think there is room for improvement on this feature and likely an adult video is playing somewhere close by on a better sound system anyway. If you are playing without porn in the background, it’s nice to have the option. I was concerned the corded earphones would feel like I was wearing a martingale (a strap that controls how high a horse can lift it’s head) given the cord connects your ears to a masterbation type toy but there was lots of slack in the cord length so it wasn’t an issue. Part way through my first session I wondered “What if I wanted to hear a male having sex instead?”. A second loop with a tiny slider type switch near the charging port to select gender might be worth adding or take it to next level and add a third JOI type recording that tells a user when they are allowed to reach orgasm. The addition of Bluetooth would also be a big improvement over tiny earphones and a cord allowing a user to broadcast to any of their own devices wireless.
First use
With the references to “thrusting technology” in the description I had expectations of this being some type of automated orgasm machine. All I had to do was penetrate it, turn it on, lay back, and wait for my unavoidable explosive climax. It didn’t quite work out that way. I penetrated it which felt really good and then powered up the first setting, and waited to orgasm. It felt great but after a few minutes I hadn’t yet felt any of the building up arrousal type feelings so I switched to the second setting. It was different and also felt good so I waited. I ended up cycling through all 7 settings which are very different and all feel good. I figured I would try the turbo button and Whooh!.. I’ll save that one until just before climax. In the end of my experimentation I ended up using it as a vibrating stroker and just before orgasm hit the turbo button which caused me to loudly and uncontrolably moan and groan. If I can’t control my sounds it means it was a really great climax. In hind sight, and something I did before my second use, I suggest taking the sleeve out and having a closer look at how it all works for a better understanding of how to best use the toy. Turn it on without the sleeve and feel around inside with a couple of fingers. While erect, see where the vibrator is placed relative to your glans and take note of vibrator’s placement relative to the controls for the device. Try on the sleeve while its out of the casing. Its translucent so you see how much room you have to work with. Understanding the toy better certainly helped me to become more proficient at using it.
Tips and tricks
With a bunch of experimenting I have grown to really like this toy. It doesn’t replace my beloved Fleshlight at $45 CDN less but does add a different pleasure I didn’t have before which was my interst. I am used to materbating in a standing position so laying back actually took away from the experience. I also found that not pressing against it for maximum penetration was a big help. Penetrate it and just let it do it’s thing. Leaning forward is always better with my Fleshlight because it gives me maximum penetration but that isn’t what is needed with this toy. What does make a difference is finding a way to use it hands free. It’s not a great annology but the best I can think of right now. You may be ticklish but you can’t tickle yourself. That is because your brain connects what your hands are doing compared to the sensations you are feeling. If you can find a way to use this toy hands free it takes it to a new level. Get one of those pistol grip quick clamps and mount it near the corner of a table or in my case, I use a small portable clamping work bench which is convientely at the exact right height. I haven’t tried it but have also read from others about placing a toy between their mattress and box spring but that means getting off on your knees.
Summary
If you don’t have any type of stroking toy go with a full sized Fleshlight. If you do have one already and looking for something different to add to the mix the Blowmotion is a good choice. The difference between the two is that with a Fleshlight you can edge or just get off right away. With the Blowmotion it’s more of an experience that slowly builds up to climax.
Honestly, if I saw that review on an item I was looking at, I’d not read it. But seeing as I love to give my opinion, here I am Obviously this is just my opinion before you get all huffy
I’ve cut a lot out, and there’s still more than I would read. Honestly, I think the best part is the first use part. That’s the bit that people will be interested in. The rest is informative, but if it’s in the toys description, it doesn’t need to be in the review. I’ve added a few questions in bold that you could answer in a few words.
I’ve also corrected a few spelling errors

will this part affect anyone who can’t see the controls, can they feel it clearly to know which button does what? The casing has a matt finish which allows a good grip even with slippy hands and the sleeve is easy to remove, insert, & turn inside out for a thorough cleaning. It is rather girthy to hang onto, but not to the point of being a problem.

I’d second that, far too long, i was starting to lose the will to live reading it.
Personally I like short and to the point reviews with the pros and cons highlighted. Sometimes you can give too much extraneous information and the brain doesn’t take it in.
LOL… I fully know it’s too long and appreciate the bristly cat reply. I read through the thread about what makes a good review and tried to work it all in but also know I need to cut a bunch out. I do want to hear from a couple others because (of course) I don’t necessarily agree with all your view points. Yeah! We are back to normal.
Your toy review is long but not everyone wants to read a short basic review. When people are spending a lot of money on a toy they might be after a in-depth review. I would keep it as it is
Thank you @Deanna32 . The toy with taxes and shipping is over 200 bucks Canadian and I am trying to picture things from the buyers stand point and what info helps to justify the cost. It’s easy to cheap out on sex toys but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I know the post is too long. I am just not sure what parts can be dropped that do not help someone deciding on the expense of this purchase.
Is the format you have it in there (with the subheadings) how you’re planning to submit onsite? If so, it may not translate as cleanly or clearly across to the shopping site as you’d like.
If you want to see a comparison of forum v site, have a look at my review here, then how it translates on the site (click the link on my review, I picked this one as there’s only 2 reviews so it’s easy to find), and you’ll see how the formatting differs, as my review here (including the paragraph spacing) is what I copy/pasted to the shopping site for submission (I pop it all on a document for safekeeping and workshop it).
*Edit- it’s probably also worth me saying that sometimes reviews get little edits by the LH team before going live, so the review you submit may be tweaked slightly before it goes up onsite (usually to make it less wordy or sometimes for spelling), but this isn’t always the case!
I agree with @Deanna32 , I’d leave it pretty much as is. I don’t mind a long review if I’m looking to spend a lot of money and want to know everything. I would much rather a long review that answers my questions, than a condensed one, that doesn’t. Yes, the first, What you get, section could be condensed a bit, but that’s the only part I felt contained unnecessary information and slight waffle. The rest was great. I particularly liked the martingale reference about the length of the headphone cables .
Otherwise, just correct the spelling mistakes and for me, it’s all good.
@RacyRosalee , interesting about your paragraph spacing getting lost. I always write my reviews in notes on my phone and then copy and paste. 99% of the time the paragraph spacing stays as it should but very occasionally, it gets lost, and I’ve no idea why. I agree it is very annoying, though. @be3169 , you will lose the bold when you upload it but the spacing should stay.
Yeah it could just be the AU site, don’t think they edit my spacing out, as nothing else is ever touched
Strange it only changes sometimes on your end @Peitho, the joys of technology
The formatting was mostly for me to see how much I was covering the different topic areas but rereading it over coffee this morning I see why it ended up so long. It’s pretty much two different type reviews. I have info included that is more of a product development type review (what it should do) rather than being a purchaser type review (what it does do). The audio section for example could be knocked down to simply stating you can not change the gender of the audio and cord length isn’t a problem. Thanks for the shout out on the martingale btw. There are only about a dozen reviews for this item so I think I will read through them all again as the next step and then compare to my info.
- Edit - added comment
What does everyone look for when you’re reading reviews?
Some thought and effort put into providing real life experience using the item.
Which bits do you consider waffle and which real gems?
Shipping, packaging, customer service, damages or defects… these are all company / Mail Post reviews and have nothing to do with the actual product. I do appreciate it when someone shares info I hadn’t thought to ask about or if their opinion differs from other reviews.
Do you trust reviews from a certain reviewer more than others?
I don’t pay much mind to the username unless something really catches my attention about the review (positive or negative).
What items do you prefer reviewing?
Anything that really impresses or I am totally disappointed with. Second priority would be products that have too few or poorly written reviews that did not help me in my purchase decision. If there are already 857 reviews… what can I possibly add?
What do you think is important to include when you’re writing them?
I address objections from others if I disagree, I like to compare price point to what you get, and I like to add info others may have not mentioned. Any tips or tricks I figured out I will also share.
How long is a good review length?
That varies greatly depending on the product. A rechargeable device with many different settings virus a pair of lace thongs need a different amount of info to be provided.
Do you feel that you have to review everything you buy?
Absolutely not.
How long do you use a toy/outfit/etc out for before you review?
That also varies greatly. A clothing item only needs to be tried on once but another poster made a valid point of waiting until after first wash. A glass wand would also not require a lengthy testing period. You like it or you don’t. The more complicated toys require more time. One has to learn how to best use it and provide tips for max pleasure which requires experimenting a bit. Take a product like Fleshlight. The review I could write today would be vastly different than had I posted after using it a few times. I think that is one difference for me. I don’t usually post reviews for something I just received. Months or years later, if I am impressed (or disappointed) and know all the inner workings, that is when I will review.
Good to know @RacyRosalee . This is only a very rough draft with lots of editing involved. I have yet to run it through spell check but fix the typos as I notice them. I looked up a review I had done before and found I couldn’t edit it so I do want to get the original post to be the best I can submit.
I personally get bored if a review is too long. I don’t read the long winded ones I skip past them…it’s a review people want to read not a novel.
As long as it’s true to YOU…what YOU found good and also not so good is what matters…you are doing a review for the general public to read and understand with a regard to purchasing it. Not to impress Lovehoney.
Can you review my review on the desire rechargeable cock ring. I put lots of effort in but want to get others opinions. The better the review the more likely I am to get to test out more toys .
I recently tried the Desire Luxury Rechargeable Vibrating Cock Ring, and while the experience had its highlights, there were some drawbacks. My wife found the vibration pleasant, delivering enjoyable sensations that enhanced the moment for both of us. The material is beautiful and has a premium feel that adds to the overall allure of the product. It also comes in nice packaging, which makes it feel even more luxurious. It’s great that it’s rechargeable and nice and quiet, so it doesn’t distract. However, I found the ring itself to be quite stiff and unfortunately too large for my penis, as I am slightly below average in size. This made it less effective and somewhat uncomfortable to use. Despite this, I believe the product has great potential and could be perfect if it were more flexible or available in a smaller size. If you’re of average or above-average size, this might be an ideal fit for you.
Thanks
Any criticism is welcome
For a straight forward toy, this covers everything I would want to know except the charger format. If there were a few other similar posts and this was an item I was looking for I would make the purchase based on your review.
Oh… I am not looking to impress Lovehoney, I just enjoy participating here. Like @jocat, if something is crap I will certainly call it out. Two mistakes I made on trying to post to this discussion; I read through all the posts and tried to meet all the different recommendations which can’t be done; and secondly, I posted a raw edit that hadn’t been formatted or spell checked yet given all the edits, copy, pastes, etc. Feedback was good but diverse leaving me to decide what to leave in, what to delete, and what to rewrite. Review now posted and I am good with it. I hope it helps someone like me make a purchase decision.
*Edit - typo as usual
