Hello everyone, i'm newbie here and I'm thinking in starting writing some reviews of some products that i already have and products that i will buy here.
I thinking... this is one international web site and i bet that have a lot of users from another countries that will be happy in read some reviews in her first language!!!
What Lovehoney staff and Lovehoney users thinking about reviews in English and another language?
It depends what language you want to write in really! Remember we do have Lovehoney.fr and .de - So German/French reviews are encouraged on there :)
Well my first language is Portuguese and maybe my girlfriend could write in Spanish too.
So we could write in EN + PT, or, EN+SP, or EN+PT+SP.
I didn't know that you have .fr and .de website. They have any difference in price or promotion comparative to .uk?
Im not sure how i would feel tbh. I think you would need to review each item in english as well as another language, but then it might be too long.
some of my reviews are quite detailed and long, so if i then translated them into another language it would be massively long! The only way around that is to keep it short but then you lose important details.
Yap, i'm agreed with you. In massive review, with a lot of details, maybe will to much extended review if will be translated.
One solution could be make 2 reviews. But the web site users could not like see reviews in another language...
Its also worth noting that the reviews have to be checked before they are published to make sure they dont contain any swearing or rude words. If you post a review in another language there would need to be someone working at LH who could read it and approve it.
Not saying you would do that of course! But you never know who might try it and end up writing something against the rules.
It's a pretty neat idea, but that would require everyone writing the reviews to be able to fluently conjugate in a second language. And most of us can't, as the majority of testers and reviewers are EnglishAFL or English-only.
And as JM said, someone at LH would have to check them all, as they do with English reviews.
They don't exactly teach you in school how to talk about stuff like this, and so the chance of reviews being unintelligible is pretty damn high.
If you wanted to read reviews in other languages, check for country specific sites, not necessarily LH, but other sex bloggers and sex toy shops will have reviews, even if you then buy from here.
Yap, it's was a god idea but with a lot problems like all of you said, so best luck for my next idea.

It is a good idea. Why not make a blog for your Portuguese and Spanish reviews and include a link at the bottom of your reviews in English? I don't mind seeing reviews in other languages, though it could get a bit unwieldy if it catches on. A blog would put all of your Portuguese and Spanish reviews in one place, which would make them easier to find and share.
The lovely people in the blogging thread can give you loads of help for setting one up.

I'm a bit of a technophobe, and can only just about manage to use a computer ect in english, so if other languages where added to the mix, then it would put me off, sorry.

Hello! We currently don't have the ability to show reviews on specific sites and you can only submit reviews via Lovehoney.co.uk - so all reviews need to be in English for the time being.
HOWEVER, as soon as we can split the reviews by site and by language we will be encouraging people to review multi-lingually!
I'm German and i wonder if i shall start translating the english reveiws we already have. (Would that even show up on my profile page or anything?)
Will the german site feature reviews as soon as there are enough?
