Today, as Mrs Belle was putting on the fishnet thong (non-Lovehoney - sorry) that has been the object of utter erotic obsession for Mr Belle for the last 8 years or so suffered catastrophic disintegration of the elasticated side straps. This led to a rather sad little puddle of underwear on the floor round Mrs Belles ankles and a look on Mr Belle’s face not unlike a three year old whose favourite balloon has just burst.
Worse still was when the backup pair was brought out only for them to be worse than the first pair.
Since the company who made them no longer operates it means a sad end. No longer will that thong grace our photos and voyeuristic endeavours

I feel your pain.its gutting when an old favourite piece of lingerie finally gives ups the ghost.i had a cupless ,latex crotchless basque for years which cost a lot of money at the time.the attached suspenders broke eventually and despite various attempts of DIY repairs it was never the same .absolutely loved it but it I finally had to say goodbye and bought a replacement.was never as good as the original
I send my condolences, we’ve had the same with a few pairs of boots and a couple of leather items. Truly a sad experience, especially if you know your partner is about to put them on before they depart this realm.
Mr Belle has decided that he is going to try to bring Mrs Belle’s fishnet thongs back from the dead - a Frankenthong as it were. Maybe zombie-thong?
His reasoning is that since the elasticated bits on the sides are all that have gone bad, and since all they appear to be is bits of of black elasticated strap looped through a little ring and sewn together, how hard can it be to get them repaired?
The only problem is getting the replacement material. We are not actually sure what it is called, but it looks like a sewn tube of black material with some white elasticated stuff inside. It’s about 8mm wide and maybe 4mm thick.
Can anyone tell us what the official name for this sort of strapping is? We assume it is sort of generic type strapping, maybe we can find a couple of meters of it
I do not want to find myself on the wrong side the forum rules by posting links with this but you are right, if you search 8mm elastic band for clothing many options come up if you add tubular to it there are more and if you take a photo and get AI to search for you you might get additional options.
We tried to find some suitable straps in the myriad of cloth, textile and clothe making shops to no avail. Seems not to be a thing here. However we found some absolutely perfect stuff in of all places the local hypermarket. They were selling some (seriously unsexy) bikini tops that have straps of exactly the right material, and clearly weren’t selling well because they are on sale really cheap.
Now we have to work out how to sew them on, no way in this world we are going to take them to the local women’s ‘tailor’ (that’s what they are called here for some reason) to get them fixed!
We do have a sewing machine, and Mr Belle has taught himself to use it but we think this may not be suitable to do these. We will try hand stitching, there’s plenty of strap material to test with
