I had to thank my friend after every stroke of the cane and flogger.

It’s all part of the submission, or kink of degrading it’s also a good starting point to the continual check of consent and where they are at.
You don’t have to have it but it’s a useful tool, whichever way you use it.

@batjamboree Also, as my friend knew I have a fetish for long hair and she ueed to have me wash, oil, curl, brush her hair etc. I once, during a flogging I asked if I could kiss her beautiful hair.
She initially refused and gave me a few extra strokes. Only when the flogging was over and I had kissed her feet did she tell me I may kiss her hair.

She uses the impact toys on me in sets of 10 strokes and I thank her after every set of 10.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. He"ll tell me if I need to, normally by doing a few, complaining I’m not counting, then starting again. Any excuse to add a few more!

Apart from hand spanking, my fantasy mistress expects me to count the strokes that are delivered with anything else and to thank her, either after each stroke, or at the end of the session.
As well as expressing gratitude, she appreciates requests for more or harder spanking, seeing it as an acknowledgement that I have been very naughty, disobedient etc. and that I recognise the need for my punishment.
A strict mistress is hard to please, but such things help to a small degree. Any complaints or objections about my punishment, on the other hand, will obviously have the opposite effect!!
No, however, my Sirs expect me to express my gratitude for their ownership of me at the end of the day, likewise I expect my submissive girlfriend to do the same. I do expect her to express her gratitude to me/them for other things too, because I am a harsh Mistress and she loves it

Not quite the same but we include a bit of “gratitude” in our sploshing.
When my OH is messing me up I’ll quite often blurt out something like “Oh that’s so good! Give me more!” and similarly, I can be slowly pouring custard over her and she’ll instruct me “I want it everywhere….cover me in it” or something like that.

I have heard of people being made to kiss a cane or whip after receiving them.
That sounds hot to me.
I say thank you at the end of the session but I’m usually fitted with a ball gag during the session so the best I can do is to utter appreciative grunts of pain with each stroke.

We have one of those clicker things that door staff have.
I once received just over 300 mainly fairly light to medium slaps during an episode of Tenable in time with the answers on the show.
