Sex swing install

Hi Guys, was thinking of getting a sex swing. But not keen to be drilling into the ceiling or joists etc. I have a garden chair which has a metal stand that already holds both of our weights anyway. Has anyone tried hooking a sex swing on one of those.

Iā€™ve been the same, wanted one for ages but as I rent didnā€™t fancy the diy aspect. Iā€™m sure Iā€™ve seen swings for sale with the sort of thing you are talking about so may well work.

Yes it works so long as you have the space and the dynamic load is high enough (since seated (static) Vs moving (dynamic) forces vary by quite a bit!)

The only reason I go for ceiling connections is the clear and modern aesthetic

Good point. We do not have a dedicated room so I am trying the hidden in plain sight approach, whereby the seat could be simply swapped for the swing. How do you mange your ceiling hook?

Never tried this but the door swings are good  the clamps hook over the door and when you close it, hey prestoā€¦ā€¦

Never considered it before but have just watched a couple perform with one tonight on a Porn stream. We can see the attraction, although the permanent nature of the fixing in the ceiling in our bedroom would be embarrassing if family or friends spotted it. Must investigate the suggestion of a door mounted swing!

There are stand-alone ā€œstands,ā€ that can be assembled/re-assembled that function like a ceiling mounted swing. They are basically a tall tripod base with a pyramidal point the swing hangs from.

They are quite nice as long as you get a quality name versus a knockoff. Plus. You can just pack it away rather than un-mount a ceiling mount when company is coming over. Or take with you to your hotel.

We have a ā€˜reading hammockā€™ hanging from it for the majority of the time, itā€™s very easy to explain away. It looks nice and homely but doubles up for such a wonderful bit of debauchery.

In terms of supporting it, itā€™s an eyebolt heading through a beam as well as a supporting beam above that which is spreading the load over 2-4 neighbouring beams. Luckily the loft has easy access.

I love the ease of door kits, however as someone who has spent far to long doing DIY to the house, they annoy me for scratches and the very rare chance of knocking the door out of alignment.

The stand alone kits are great but very pricey. Another way of doing it is to build your own A-frame.
I built a bamboo pole frame (essentially an indoor swing set) that lasted for years and could take the dynamic weight of at least 3 adults at once.

Guess you could give it a try and see if itā€™d workā€¦
Alternatively you can get some sex swings with their own frames

The beauty of having exposed wood beams chain over the beam and hang swing on and let the fun begin

In theory it should be ok but unsure on the balance side of things.

Connecting it up to the joists really isnā€™t as scary as it sounds though.

Hi @niceguy

See my previous post which may help you :+1:

@niceguy You can simply hollow out a smoke or carbon monoxide detector and snap the cover over.

Safety first!

You can buy these smoke/carbon monoxide detectors from loads of places that are battery powered. If you purchased one of these it wouldnā€™t mess with any detectors that are hard wired into your home and required to meet building regs.
This is a brilliant idea imo you could even pop a small camera under the cover and film the antics when you take the cover off and start your own Tarzan and jane scene  :joy:

As mentioned by others. Ours hook is hidden by a hollowed out smoke detector. Round eye bolt screwed into beam in ceiling and then mounted smoke detector over that. Works great, not one person has ever noticed our hidden little secret. LOL

Thatā€™s a great idea!

Another one wiuld be to have somwthing decorative hanging down from the hook.

But considering the size of the hook required, Iā€™ll have to be chunkyā€¦

Yeah. I agree that it s cheaper to make one. 300$ beginning quality price range isnā€™t out of the realm of reason for someone who canā€™t make one though.

I wasnā€™t making assumptions when I mentioned them, just trying to provide alternative options. Other than ceiling mounts.

Yours is a great one as well. For those who are crafty and or have the desire to follow a YouTube video if they donā€™t know how to make one, and if they are willing to go get the materials and have a vehicle capable of transporting etc.

Iā€™m a DIYer where I moved from. Where I live now, itā€™s cheaper to buy premade items hence the mention of the swings. Itā€™s just more practical for me here than it is to rent a truck I donā€™t have here, with simple tools that I also donā€™t have here and so on. For reference, I built 18ā€™ closed in gazebos at the age of 8 with no help from start to finish after the lumber had been delivered. With much more than just simple tools obviously, but probably power tools a decent parent wouldnā€™t let their kid operate unsupervised. #FarmLifeNotCityLifeDifferencesThough.

Everyoneā€™s situation is a little different I guess. To me, 300$ isnā€™t much pricier than a high range standalone sex toy (~200-250$), and so on.

Love the creative suggestion based off another creative suggestion. Kudos to both you and @valbowski77
