Not sex, but I've succeeded and failed with many toys in the bath. Water does not make a good lubricant! The only toys I've ever been able to get inside me while in the bath are glass dildos, because they're so smooth. I reckon you might have trouble penetrating while underwater.

Have you tried a silicone lube?
