Shibari/rope bondage classes

I was in the scouts and terrible at knots … we’d love to try this … she enjoys submissiveness… anyone know how you learn? Are there classes?

Depending on where you are, there are classes that you can attend to learn.

Otherwise there are some good YouTube tutorials

Reckon you could find some YouTube videos on this showing step by step tutorials.

Within the UK you will find that there are tonnes of local classes for shibari and kinbaku.
From what I’ve heard this is still true in the US and Australia also - so it shouldn’t be too hard to find.

What you usually learn pretty quickly is that a lot of the ties rely on frictions, not on knots - so one less thing to worry about  There is obviously a fair amount of safety to be aware of, but as long as you and the submissive (rope bunny) have a good open communication, you will very quickly find what works for their anatomy and your mutual pleasures. :smiling_imp:

Whilst the video tutorials will provide a great level of technical, with some going into the safety detail - classes are (personally) a must for beginners - at least until the safety and communication aspect has been drilled home.

Would love to find a class … we’re in the north east … not seen any yet …

Didn’t realise there was classes for this sort of thing available unless it comes under macramé

I used to help run one on the South coast. It was a lot of fun to be honest.

But yeah, safety first everyone - just because there is no suspension, doesn’t mean there is no risk

That’s really cool! Did you get lots of people going to the sessions?

We had about 6 regular attendees, I think our biggest was 18 (but keep in mind we only hired a small room/hall

6 or 18 both numbers are still impressive, I’d often wonder if people would be too shy to attend classes like that so is nice to see
