Silicone dildos

Okay so, i recently bought a ‘life like lover’ silicone dildo from love honey and I’ve noticed there are like faint discoloured patches appearing. What are these? I don’t want to throw it out as I have only just got it! But i also am unsure of using it as I don’t know what those bruise-like marks are!?

I know for sure they can’t be mould! I clean and dry it very well after each use. So like what is this?

I’ve also got a life like lover dildo, unfortunately I’ve never experienced this first hand so I might not be much help! ):

Maybe it’s a manufacturing issue? Might be worth contacting LoveHoney’s customer care and seeing if they can help you

Perhaps it could be dye coming off of something? I’ve found that with some lingerie and clothes the dyes can come off and slightly discolour things around them. Or maybe even UV exposure from the sun?

I don’t know, I’m spitballing the first couple ideas that came to mind, your best bet might be worth reaching out to the customer service, see if you can get a return or refund

What lube do you use? Oil based is bad for silicone.

So is silicone lube.

Water based only to be safe.

How do you store it, is it coming into contact with other toys as I have read this sometimes effects them.

Welcome to the forum! Do you use this dildo anally?

In a polythene bag.

Not all toys react with each other but it’s better to be safe.

This is an interesting thread, I have a purple Lovehoney BASICS slimline butt plug that is slowly turning brown - I thought I was imagining it at first! I thought it was just age as I’ve had it for a while but now I’m thinking it might be reacting to the black rubber matting that I used to line the draw. I might replace it at some point, a brown butt plug isn’t very appealing for presumably all too obvious reasons :joy:

If it’s left stored with another toy sometimes they react with each other so could be something to do with that perhaps :man_shrugging:t3:maybe reach out to customer services
