Looking for advice here - can the belt be used similar to a whip/tawse? Any precautions?
Also, we're looking for an implement that can be painful but quiet. Wooden paddle is just too loud and might end up scaring our neighbours!!!
I imagine a belt might be harder to control if not used either doubled over or shortened by being wound round the hand, if just used like a whip at full length there would be no solid handle to be able to control it easier meaning it could land in dangerous places and also wrap around easier.
As for something quiet but painful have you tried a cane? Anything slimmer with less surface impact area will be quieter than larger spanking implements like a paddle. :)
You could diy and use whatever ever you have lying around like big porridge spoon or anything really. It all up your imagination but its up to you whether you want to buy a product for this use or go diy way.

+1 - I love belts, but you do have to be careful if you are using the whole length. Mr Scorpius winds some around his hand and uses anything from 10-22 inches of the length. If you do use it folded in half, it does make it much more intense! I would also recommend this slapper paddle which I received recently from a lovely friend from the forum. It is really quite intense, but is not too noisy in my opinion - I really love it! :) xx
This definitely got me curious about a tawse. I wanted to ask if anyone can name the action of being hit with a belt? Is it whipping? It’s not really slapping or spanking. Whats the concensus of the group?
The tawse I linked looks fun, and @dlmr’s review is definitely selling it to me. I’ve got it in my saved items, I don’t think I’m thinking rationally because I’m thinking of the belt kissing my skin 
@JoCat I use the word tawsing. Leaves no doubt.
I love my tawse (which isn’t an LH one, so I can’t go into details, other than to say it has 6 tails instead of 2 and is vicious). The best I can think of is “sublimely painful”. For me, it is so much better than a cane.

I like a cane, its a much deeper thud but I really love the belt. I like it full length more than shortened and I love when it curls around my side. The tawse looks fun, I’m going to have to do a wider search. Its a shame theres only 1 version of it on LH when paddles and whips have a variety of options.
