Some helpful tips for Lingerie Reviews!

How appropriate the sizing recommendations are.
how much support the lingerie provides
how short/ long it us
quality
how easy it is to put on
How 'see through' the material is

LIngerie reviews def need to mention sizing specifics. If you're a size 14 who's 5'2" and pear shaped with C cup boobs it's going to work completely differently than on a size 10, 6' wearer with double Ds.

If it's a one size fits most product, do you think it would actually fit someone at each extreme?

Did it boost your confidence? Why/why not?

What would you change?

How comfortable are the materials? How was the build quality......

The more detail the better for me πŸ˜™

In reviews I always like to see a person's height and weight, what size was purchased as these informations are very important if you are not sure what size to buy.

Love this post. Definitely helps when reviewing to know what everyone looks for. X

Brilliant thread.
I'll try to be as informative as possible in future knowing now what details are of particular interest and importance.
I'm 5' 1" with 34C boobs and usually buy a size 10 to 12 and find that the accuracy of the garments size is usually enough info for me.I usually gauge the rest from the models measurements and how it looks on her.

Forgot to mention this in my post but I'd definitely agree with this as being majorly important! If someone's a 10 and they just write that the item fits them that doesn't tell me whether it'd fit someone who wears a 6 or whether it's best suited to a 10 and above. It's really useful for one size pieces!

How confortable it is to wear, how easy it is to remove! The effect it had when it was revealed, what reaction- was it a giggle, a phoaw, etc.

Totally agree about sizing good to know when reviewing height as well x

Myself and Mrs.T would always look for and review three main things:-

1/ fit I.e. Review stating testers/reviewers measurements etc....

2/ quality I.e. Build strength, seams strength, will it only last a couple of wears/washes.

3/ material I.e. What is it made of as we like certain materials.

Price doesn't matter because if we like an item and all the above are in the affirmative then we would make a purchase.

I love hearing about how lingerie fits people with smaller breasts and who are also rather short. I myself like to know the size of a garment and their breast size cup etc so I know how things fit on the cup sizes especially when things are a size 6/8 as cup sizes tend to still be big :)

Thanks for all your input guys.

I will be taking this all into consideration when selecting lingerie reviewers.

One thing that has struck me is that I usually write about the larger end of the scale on one size items and never mention the smaller end of the sizing. I will take this into consideration in my next one size lingerie review.

I also meant to mention I kind of switch off to reviews that describe what the lingerie looks like in great detail.

I will have already decided I like the look of a piece from the product pictures, that is why I am reading reviews. I am now interested in sizing, manufacture, feel etc things that cannot be deduced by looking at the pictures.

Obviously if there is a specific part of the item that is particularly worth mentioning then great but describing the item from top to bottom, in my opinion, is not necessary xx

I like to read what size the person is and what size they actually picked. And if the fit was good/bad. That helps me greatly when ordering clothing.

I always look for dress size, bra size, body shape, height, leg length, etc. If a review doesn't include any clue, I often skip over it.

Also, if it doesn't fit, where? All over or just in one area? Is that because you tend to be bigger/smaller than standard dress size or is the item particularly big/small? I'm top heavy so knowing if something is large or small in the cup is useful.

Does it emphasise/detract from any particular areas? I hate my tummy and items that detract are always a plus.

Is it practical (e.g. supportive) enough to be worn as underwear out of the house, or is it strictly for bedroom only? This will affect the value for money, as I like to wear my lingerie daily.

If it is designed to be kept on during playtimes (e.g. crotchless) does this actually work? Is the crotchless area big enough and in the right position?

Haven't previously put sizes or descriptions of body shape in and what fit/didn't fit. Will make sure to do that going forward. Apologies for any lingerie posts which have not covered this in the past.

MY key things I like to know when buying are material quality and strength of straps/hooks etc...

Sewing and finishing touches quality!
With so much lingerie in the market this sets out the buys from the forgets. Knowing if it is a quality finish product helps me decide if the price is right.

The fitting is what I look for first being short but slightly bigger I find it hard to find a bra that fits like a glove. If body size is stated in a review it can really help. Also comfort it's great to know whether the bra is comfortable.

Hello, I agree with the above also. I’m a 14, 5’4” and a 36FF! So I really, really struggle! I purchased some lingerie recently from here at Lovehoney and it was perfect! I usually find the top fits and the bottoms don’t or vice versa! I also like to have to option to purchase the top and bottoms in seperate sizes! Cup sizes I feel are a must, rather than a dress size xx

I wouldn't dream of disclosing my weight. If I was 7 stone, perhaps, but as someone who is morbidly obese, I'll keep that information to myself but say my dress size.
