Try it, it can be really nice, don't start too small, try 6mm(smooth) to start you don't want anything too pointy, lots of(plain) lube and play on your own at first, just let it slide in with its own weight, if you like it I bet you will go bigger or ribbed, I'm up to 15mm, and can get 12mm all the way in, don't be scared.
Once you like the feel get your partner to do it to you, if she's really open minded you can also do it to her, really.

Hi jess thanks for the info,I checked out the videos which were great I've purchased a sounding kit and was wondering how far would you say is safe to insert the sound. I know most peoples bodies are different but on average is it safe to go nearly all the way or not, I know I'm new to this sort of play but it's for future reference as obviously I don't want to do any damage to myself, any thoughts would be appreciated as is anything from all our friends on the forum tks

They come in different lengths from about 6"to12" your own body will tell you how far is enough, I've got some "Rosebud" sounds(a bead on the end of a very slim wire type shaft) that are 12" long and can easily get 10" inside, even if you have shorter ones I found I could push it all the way in, and you can push them back out so no worries, take a break for a couple of days between playing and you maybe a bit tender if you've over done it typically slight sting when peeing, on that note try to pee after play and it will wash everything away keeping things clean.

It's perfectly safe to insert to the base of your penis - some people even insert into the bladder (though this does come with more risks).
As you say, just listen to your body, and take it slow. Don't give yourself a depth or stretch goal just yet, and simply pay attention to how each experience feels.
When you're confident, then you can begin pushing this play further.

hi delboy my sounding kit turned up today so had to give it a go, I boiled the sounds I was going to get them nice and clean, once they cooled down I cleaned them with some alcohol wipes and cleaned all my bits in the shower.I got my lube from the lh site the sterile line in individual sachets. I got some down the eye of my penis and put some on the sound I used the 6mm one first which went in real easy so I tried the 8mm which took longer to go in but after some time in it went, the feeling was quite strange and good too, it was a funny feeling the rod all the way down inside of my penis but very erotic. I think I'll wait a couple of days before having another go and will perservere with that for a while before trying a bigger one. The next size up will take a while to get in I expect but that's a challenge for down the line. My penis was a bit sore for a couple of hours after but feels fine now which I was expecting after reading some of the reviews but returned to normal quicker than expected. I'll keep you posted.

After a couple of hours play I'm not surprised, good that you're giving it a few days rest, upto 12mm is generally ok/not too hard to achieve, enjoy your new feeling!
Not sounded seriously for a while,i find the 8mm easy,the 9mm is my next goal but that extra 1mm is quite tough so far!
I'm intrigued, particularly by the sperm stopper OH offers. I'm worried about damaging my urethra though. Any long term risks?
I read and watched all the lh blogs and video clips I could find if I was you I would take a look lots of good advice to be had Jess makes it fun to watch along with all the advice.
As far as I can tell sperm stoppers are ok but wouldn't use one too often as it's not to good if you come and the seamen goes back inside you too often maybe some might argue the fact but I'm not 100% sure make your own mind up on that one you might be better off using one of the Ones with the hole in the middle but this maybe not the effect your after. I'm new to it all but hope to continue well into the future and maybe get the oh to have a go on me to but that's something for the future when I get the courage to tell her I'm sounding on myself
