Starting Again During Menopause

edited by mod those of us in the midst of menopause who are on HRT. Being single for 4 months now and thoroughly loving it, my life before totally obliterated from my mind as I have found my sex drive again, thanks to my miraculous tiny tablets I have a more voracious libido than I have in decades!

Buying a dildo, clit suction machine, huge dragon dildo, and various other toys is helping, but you cannot beat the company of a man with a huge penis!

Is there anybody else out there who has become a feral cougar since menopause has hit along with the addition of HRT.

I have been through the menopause and come out the other side without the aid of HRT (was not prepared to take the risks as outlined by gp due to family history) True i lost my desire for sex but hubby was patient and now I have my mojo back have lost weight and feeling great.

Fantatsic news CrazyInCambs, very pleased to read your post. ‘Great success’ as someone once said!!!???

My perimenopausal wife is currently awaiting to start HRT (for several medical related reasons) and I’m hoping her sexual libido desert may, as a consequence, at some stage also be replaced with…….something, anything!!!

Not looking for a conversation to contravene page rules or details - just wondering if I may ask you and the ladies reading this in a similar position (without gazumping your post!) how many types of HRT you had to try before finding something that manages your symptoms and relit your fire? Appreciate HRT is not always a green light to libido - but a man can hope.

I’m genuinely seeking to be continually understanding and supportive, and would greatly appreciate some general idea from the masses reading your post that may have seen an increase in libido as you state.

Thanks

You sound fantastic @Wood-Nymph i’m glad you have got your mojo back. My wife in the sae position re HRT and health/family history so will not take HRT, interest in sex is none existent. We both love each other and I just hope, one day things will improve.

User763, my wife and I are in the situation you mentioned. Well sort of because her sex drive is either raging high or nil. Mind if I ask you a few questions in the future?

For all. I recently found this study that may be of interest to those who are experiencing menopause and lower sex drive.

Losing some weight helped me feel better about myself, felt more sexy especially with sexy lingerie. Also I just seem to think to myself I do not want to go the rest of my life without sex and I seemed to change I can’t explain it, it just happened.

Congratulations I am glad everything is working out. @Wood-Nymph

Just got to fix his ed but we are making progress each and every time, and it is actually fun playing with all the different toys and things we get up to.

Thank you and I will respond with questions later.

As far as ED we are also dealing with that to some extent. Not severe as it has only raised its ugly head a half dozen times in the last 5 years. Some things that have helped me is testosterone, Cialis, exercise, kegal exercises, and mental relaxation. The last is the biggest thing and the wife’s menopause makes it harder. If I can be of any assistance please let me know. Sexual health is very important.

I would also like to add the I’ve been experimenting with the daily dose of Cialis and find I like it better. I don’t have to think about if sex is going to happen or not and if I should take the pill. And for me it seems to take forever for the daily dose to work the best. It lasts nice and long but I was always stressed that it might not work. Once again the mental aspect and if I was relaxed and not thinking about it things are better.

Hubby is doing kegal exercise, some special exercises given him by an urologist, his testosterone levels have been checked and are fine. It is down to his diabetes, viagra and Cialis don’t work for him as they should although they have some little effect. He has got to lose more weight and hopefully in time things will improve.

Thank you for posting. I think this is an important topic for women and also their OH.

Glad that your sex drive is roaring and so are you! There are going to be some lucky guys out there when they come across you.

@steve19 …Your wife might have no interest in sex, but hopefully she still has a degree of empathy for you…providing they aren’t experiencing discomfort during sex, women can still work at reviving their sex drive by thinking positively in a sexual sense.

My wife has done this and it helped….she didn’t want to effectively abandon me on a desert island metaphorically speaking.

No one wants a good long relationship to just become plutonic.

We also had a lean time through my OH’s menopause. No HRT was used, we just kept being intimate without the full ‘act’ happening. Now past all that and enjoying a glorious sex life even though we never have piv sex. There’s lots of other things to get excited about. We first had sex together in the seventies, now it’s almost in our seventies!!:smiling_face_with_three_hearts::heart_on_fire::smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Reading this makes me feel better. My wife is currently starting to go through it as well and on TRT. And I can def tell the drive is not there as it was so this gives me a sign of hope!!

You just have to remember it’s not because she does not love you anymore that she feels the way she does. Hormones or the lack of can make women feel awful.
