Well done and I hope the stockings arrive soon - I trust you already have your suspender belt - the size you need will be the same size knickers you wear
I recommend a suspender belt with traditional style clips - avoid the smaller clips as these are difficult
Always attach the rear first and then front - before you start practice on how the clip works - don’t force as this will cause holes
When I put mine on I shift the suspender belt so the join is to the left or right and then it’s easier to attach the stocking and then move the suspender belt so the fastener is on the spine

I do have suspender belts and do struggle a bit with the clips, so I’ll be trying your method for sure. Think I’ve got to wait 2 or 3 days yet, that’s going to be a long 2-3 days but the wait will be worth it.
Probably black seamed fully fashioned stockings but love them all really and suspender tights.
