Does Size Really Matter? About Strap-On Preferences
We’ve all heard the age-old question: “Does size really matter?” It’s the topic that has sparked debates in locker rooms, bars, and probably more than one awkward family dinner. But, let’s be real here—when it comes to strap-ons, the conversation isn’t just about size anymore.
I personally opt for a strapless strap so we both can fell intimate and receive pleasure but also vibration strength and functionality I find more important over girth and length!
So, what’s more important when it comes to strap-ons—comfort, length, vibration or girth. Do you prioritize how it feels over how big it is? Is the quest for the perfect fit more of a marathon than a sprint? And, most importantly, what’s your take?
@GeorgiaSmith - I have tried the strapless type but found it uncomfortable and very limited to the dildo - I have a new leather harness I bought from a woman’s online shop (more lgbt) where it fits so good
We have been pegging for some time now. We have a variety of shapes and sizes and it just depends on the day which to use. I found I don’t like to be stretched as time has went on. I prefer a slimmer and longer dildo. I also prefer a realistic dildo that vibrates. I enjoy the visual of my wife in her harness or strapon panties and a realistic dildo. We have one dildo in particular that curves upward and vibrates. Usually when I am in my back when pegged with this dildo I can come hands free.
I’ll add another variable, flexibility. It’s a mysterious place with all sorts of weird angles so having something that can adapt to that also makes a difference.
We use the hollow strap ons. My penis is pretty small and during ‘normal’ sex it can slip out a lot and some positions, like doggy style, just don’t work as it’s not long enough to stay in. In fact it’s a struggle to get it to reach in the first place.
Using strap ons for us is about length, but she really does enjoy the added girth. The vibrations are good for both of us.
We have several, all good for different positions and angles. My favourite (girth, feel, flexibility etc) is about an inch too long and prods at something inside. We can’t find the same one in a shorter length, so we’re going to slip a cock ring or two on it and try that
Hmm if I was ever to get pegged I think it’d be more on the vibrations and perhaps girth than size… but then again i probably would change my mind multiple times after experiencing it
For my wife and I, I would say size matters for sure! What the right ‘size(s)’ are would be different for everyone. I prefer girthier but not too long as I struggle with taking more than 5-6" length, but can take over 2.5" wide ones! However with the girthier dildos it also can get heavier for the strap-on wearer, and will tire her out sooner due to wielding that extra weight.
We’ve started to switch it up a bit more by using vibrating or thrusting dildos strapped-on and it’s a nice different sensation, but still may not match up to the classic non-vibrating dildo with good old thrusting! We tried a strapless strap-on dildo once in the past, found it hard for her to hold in and get the right angles. We may try again with a different one and also try using it with a harness to help hold it in her, to see if we have any more success.
Survey says that the depth of the prostate is about 1 inch; therefore, as far as reaching the prostate goes, the length of the dildo should not matter. However, the girth is important. The Vice website, in the article, “How Much Can I Fit Up My Ass?” says:
“Medical web sites will tell you that the rectum is 6-8 inches long and 2.5 inches at its widest point. But that’s misleading: The rectum is designed to hold varying amounts of fecal matter, so the tissue is stretchy.”
A rectum diameter of 2.5 inches comes out to a girth of 7.85 inches (in circumference). Now, a vagina opening varies from 0.94 to 2.56 inches in diameter. Therefore, dildos that are meant for vaginas are probably on the small size, compared to what you might put in an anus. The dildo should be wide enough to stimulate the prostate; and the anus and the rectum can stretch. However, a really wide dildo might stress the anus and lead to gaping, which is not a good thing.
Only one failed pegging session in our book but I can absolutely confirm size matters. Some men might need a small strap on, but the typical design is smaller for the pegger and larger for the pegged. We might give it a go again if we found one the other way round and small ish
