We've just received or first glass dildo (it's the one which was DOTD a couple of days ago). The main reason we got it was to experiment more with temperature play.
Does anyone have any thoughts or experiences on what feels good or what to avoid?

I got the tracy cox ones (yet to do my review!) and tried putting one in the fridge.
i found vaginally that i could feel the detail much more than when it was room temperature. When it was in and moving you could feel the edge of the "head" and make out the shape of it much more than when it was room temp. At room temp you could just feel "fullness".
I think i need to play more before giving an accurate review though because next time it may feel better. It wasnt bad cold, but more sensitive so had to be careful not to be too vigorous.
I like my glass/metal toys to be around body temperature, so I put them in a bowl of hot water for a few minutes and towel dry them before use - I'm not sure why I prefer warming them up over cooling them down, it just feels better for me somehow.
Loooads of people like them cold though, so you can put them in the fridge or a sinkful of cold water if that takes your fancy! I used to like cooling down textured toys as I think the cooler temperature makes any nobbles/swirls/curves more intense. I'd avoid putting them in the freezer as this can cause them to literally 'stick' (ouch) if you leave them in too long, and don't microwave them either.
Thanks for the advice JM and SC. I was thinking of leaving it in warm water for a while, so it'll be a nicer feeling for her. We've experimented a little bit and she wasn't overly keen on cold toys. However, we'll see if she reacts better to the glass! I can imagine that the cold toys may numb you a little bit after time? I know that when I've used them on myself, it has done. Either way, I'm looking forward to watching her squirm ;)
One thing though, if you get it cold do NOT sneak it out of the fridge and put it against her back when she isnt looking!

I didnt find cold toys numbing. I found that it only stayed cold for a short amount of time as when its inside it soon warms up. But then maybe i didnt have it cold enough? Although i dont think i would want it much colder!
That sounds like the perfect evil plan! Muahaha :) I was thinking freezer cold, rather than fridge. There's no point doing things in half measures! I guess you're right though - it'll warm up soon enough. I guess my plan of using it warm is so it's more of a hug from the inside, rather than just an icy rod! Especially on these cold nights! I would avoid jumping straight in with an overly hot/cold dildo if you guys have never done temperature play before. By that I mean don't go straight to putting it in the fridge or imersing in hot water, use at room temperature for the cold side or leave it in contact with your skin for the warm side. Trust me, glass gets plenty hot/cold from just that! Then once you're both used to the sensations and know whether you prefer hot or cold, go further with it :)
Unless you're looking for more of a shock reaction, but still avoid the freezer/boiling water haha :)
Fridge cold is just enough for me, work your way to the extremes. Have fun, the bobble end is extra nice cold.

I love using my favourite glass dildo warm these cold nights! It's really cosy! :) I hear it up in a bowl of hot water or if I'm already in bed I put it under my hot water bottle!

put in the fridge for 5 mins and it will be cold enough, place in a bowl of warm water for a few mins and it will be ready. I find glass dildos are amazing, when warmed up and run along the back in a rolling motion

Thinking about it... You're right! I've tried using a toy straight from the box without getting it to body temperature first and it wasn't pleasant. It was also so much harder to relax my muscles. Warm, however, sounds like it could be quite the opposite!

Yes, I always warm my glass butt plug up before using it! It makes it easier to relax and insert, more comfortable, and feels very nice!
Just for an update - we had a great time experimenting with temperature play last night. Got her new glass really warm and she loved every second :). Definitely one to do again!
I once put a glass dildo in ice and cold water, it was a little too much for me, just couldn't handle it! Felt like my insides were burning. Now I just stick to cold water without the ice.
I can't do ice cold on my vajajay, it's like torture but as an object to be teased with over my boobs etc, it's good.
