Hi, Not sure if this is the right sub forum to post this in but here goes:

Just came on to say thanks to anyone who has posted a dildo review! Without knowing it you are providing a great service to men (if they use it!!!). Let me explain:

I'm in my late thirties and all my life up until last year I had a misperception of my penis! The problem is is that a straight male only ever really sees other cocks in porn. So from a teenager you grow up comparing yourself to porn stars. I thought i had a small cock, and that was mostly from porn comparison and also an ex-girlfriend saying it spitefully, amongst another couple of small cock experiences. I had measured myself (incorrectly) a few times and the measurement was 6".

Now recent studies have shown that the average penis size is 5.1" (which i'm still not convinced is true!) but a few years ago everyone thought it was about 6". In spite of this I still was watching porn and still believed that i was not just average but small. None of my partners have ever complained and actually most of them seemed to have a pretty great time lol which added more to the confusion in my head.

A couple of things happened last year - firstly I learned to measure correctly! It turns out that to measure a penis correctly you acually have to press into the fat pad at the base of the penis. Now i'm not overweight at all but i found out that i have a 1"+ fat pad - i think maybe because i have big balls! (which maybe added to the smaller visual apperance in my mind) - and I correctly measured myself as 7.25" with 5" girth getting thicker towards 5.5" at the base and when completely brick hard i've measured myself at 7.5"! A big change of perception happened that day!

Now - getting to the dildo review part. Even though i now knew my actual size, I still couldn't convince myself that i wasn't small in the trouser department. Probably due to porn - which i stopped watching at this point when i realised the damage done to my self-perception. So I had the idea of trying to find out what women actually think about penis size - THAT is hard to find out as women are notoriously shy/cagey at giving their real opinion even on the internet - EXCEPT when reviewing dildos!!!

So i found the plethora of dildo reviews on this site a FANTASTIC HELP at re-training my mind and healing my issues/misperception - which does effect a man - whether we like it or not!! Reading the reviews of dildos of a similar size to my cock - e.g.

Glad to hear that you’ve been able to see past the image porn portrays!

The penises seen in porn actually scare me a little bit - some are definitely more than I’m comfortable with whereas the second toy you linked and even the smaller version of it are great! It’s a cliche to say but technique and enthusiasm are the things I care for, not how many inches a man has or doesn’t have.

Hey ken, great to hear how the reviews have made you realise that porn is not a realistic view of how sex is or body image. Unfortunately like most of us, porn is where we see the majority of naked men and women and see sex in all its HD glory. But as with most things it’s mostly fake and the men have pills and pumps and injections to push their members to monsterous proportions, and females have everything waxed and tucked and designed to look aesthetically pleasing. Which make everyone have a warped sense of reality, it’s the same as people getting frustrated about not being able to orgasm or squirt etc. It’s a huge majority of people who can’t achieve multiple orgasms or squirting or men lasting longer than a couple of minutes, it’s actually an average of 40-50 seconds or something in which a man will usually orgasm. So to be blunt, porn is great if you need something to get you off but should never be seen as a lesson in sex or a reality check.

Yeah definitely not a reality check. I think the worse thing is that the actresses make it look like they're loving it having sex with a huge cock (which they may be!) and then you feel like you need to massive one to give a woman pleasure it that way. But the thing you can't tell is whether that is real pleasure or just acting, , and that they are actually in pain. The acting is the problem, that cause the false perception as well as everything else you mentioned. It ain't good for you! That's why the dildo reviews brought be back to reality.
