The Cornetto Trilogy Fans

Following a conversation with @zombifiedguy on this thread, I thought I’d start a thread for those of us who love the “Cornetto trilogy” and just about anything Nick Frost/Simon Pegg. Hot Fuzz has a special place in my heart: it’s what I went to see on my first unofficial first date with my husband. Yes, I still have the ticket!

So, which movie is your favourite? Favourite quotes? Scenes? Go on, you know you want to

Loved Spaced!

Shaun of the Dead brilliant.

Hot Fuzz not so much.

The World’s End thought was awful.

Loved Baby Driver and Last Night in Soho which I only watched recently, fantastic soundtrack to both films!

Spaced, yes! So much yes! It’s geeky, it’s funny, it’s just everything it needs to be.

I’m not big on Shaun of The Dead, probably because I’m just not big on zombie films, generally.

I loved Hot Fuzz but I wanted to work for the police so that checks out.

At World’s End… let’s just not.

Have you seen Paul? If I didn’t know Seth Rogan voiced Paul, I could enjoy it.

Yes loved Paul especially the ELO soundtrack!

I have no real love for Zombie films I just enjoyed the film.

Yes Spaced was so relatably geeky, love Big Bang Theory for the same reason.

I used to have a periodic table shower curtain.

Am I forgiven for my love of crocs yet? :joy:

Each to their own! But yes I can overlook the Crocs! :joy: I had a “I’m not insane, my mother had me tested” t-shirt bought me for Christmas a few years ago!

I bought my neighbour a “bazinga!” mug for Christmas. He and I are always winding one another up and I had the last laugh — he tried to make me jump once so I pulled a party popper on him just after he put his power tools down and he thought the battery had exploded. I’ve warned him that I have a confetti cannon if he ever considers an escalation. He bought me a fish-themed quiz game (I’m both a fisherwoman and an aquarist) for Christmas, as well as a “sushi lover” Hot Wheels car, so I thought a mug from his favourite TV show — with some gentle “remember who you’re messing with” energy — seemed appropriate. I bought my other partner a mug with his affectionately-afforded nickname on it too, that he got by thinking he could intimidate me.

It’s diplomacy, but with caffeine

Randomly I was in London with an ex when Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright were doing a signing at Forbidden Planet

I had (might still be somewhere :woman_shrugging:t2:) a signed Shaun of the Dead graphic novel. Had a chat with Simon about Green Day too because I was wearing a hoodie

Ahh memories :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

No way, that’s so awesome! Simon seems like one of those people that almost forgets he’s a celebrity sometimes :joy:

My wife once made our niece a Bazinga ball pit cake for her birthday, she used Skittles for the balls!

Genius! Love it!

Huge Spaced fan, generally also love what Simon, Nick and Edgar do - save Worlds End. Such a shame given the quality of the cast.

Paul is epic, Baby Driver was OK but again didn’t seem to really bring much out of the cast (and rewatching you REALLY see how creepy Spacey was at that time).

In the 80’s I went in Virgin Megastore in Birmingham one weekday afternoon to unexpectely discover Adam West the 60’s Batman signing stuff. At the time there was a strike by the ITV news team on Good Morning Britain so they filled the time with repeats of Batman and Happy Days so Batman was popular again.

I went upstairs to buy a graphic novel to get signed. I was only gone 5 minutes but when I got back he’d gone as there was nobody queueing!

I did enjoy reading the graphic novel though!

I’ve not seen Baby Driver, I’ll have to give that one a watch.

It’s a good film, more so if you’re a petrol head but good story.

Run Fatboy Run is another solid Pegg film.

I was thinking of Run Fat Boy Run but that’s Pegg as stand alone, not Pegg/Frost.

I’ve seen Absolutely Anything as well but that one falls apart for me. The Trailer is all in
the first 10-20 minutes of the movie and the rest just… lacks.

True, I’ll add Fighting with my Family for a Nick Frost standalone to redress the balance

Shaun of the dead is the best of the trilogy and you zombie haters are wrong lol

I’ll make a note.

@zombifiedguy you still haven’t forgiven my love of crocs, you can be wrong too

Zombies does remind me, kind of related, my husband used to play Dead Rising 2. One of his best combinations was a leaf blower and unbrella; it was like a riot shield for zombies that decimated them if they got too close. I also remember the time he was playing and I was going to sneeze, so I tried to tap him to warn him and he thought I was trying to bug him. Before now I didn’t know my husband was religious, but I sneezed and he yeeted the controller with a declaration of “Jesus Christ!” :joy:
