I know I say this most weeks but these were SO hard!!!
I have added the answers to the quiz post
And the winner of this week’s Great Hump Day Quiz is…
Congratulations!
And the Great Hump Clean-Sweepers this week are…
We currently have joint potato place… Though there may also be some friendly marking at play too, so it’s worth a score review. Potatoes pending.
Potato Place Update
On review, I think both entries benefited from a bit of friendly marking so are both more than eligible to share the Potato Prize.
Congratulations @Craig1234 and @SexInTheCity
For anyone still wondering, the kid’s questions this week were 2,
1,
3,
2,
3, and
5
And we also have to make a rather serious decision. Do we keep the , or go for the new
? I urge everyone to consider this most carefully.
Congratulations @MrsLovett77
Thanks @Ian_Chimp and congratulations @MrsLovett77 !
Three follow up statements:
-
The kids’ questions were really hard - kids must be smarter than they were in my day! Scary.
-
3 - A Whale Shark is bigger than a Great White. It might not eat Seals but I’m sure the shrimp see it as predatory!
-
I vote to keep the poop
- tradition now and I quite like him constantly being in my list of recent emojis
Often the answers are a bit iffy! I once argued the toss over Clark Kent’s home town being Smallville not Ohio!
Where does Ohio come from? Definitely raised in Smallville, Kansas… though you could maybe argue for a town on Krypton even if he left as a baby. Ohio though?
I have no idea! Bloody Trivial Pursuit! I know they purposely put wrong answers in to catch out plagiarism, so that may explain it?
Googling it, it seems Superman was created in Cleveland, Ohio. Maybe it had something to do with that?
I googled the whale shark and it said it was a filter-feeder, so I didn’t think it counted.
Ohio is the state lol
Well done folks, least I’m on a diet this week! Only 1/2 a potato for me. We’ll done @SexInTheCity helping me diet
Fair enough, I am happy with my score just seems harsh on the Shrimp!
Nope, Smallville is in Kansas not Ohio!
Hold on whose googling answers
I admit to Googling the Whale Shark after the answers came up to check my facts but as far as Superman is concerned I grew up with Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher - I know my Superman!
Clark Kent is from Smallville, Kansas!!!
Yes, as a long time comic fan i know it’s Smallville. But in those days you couldn’t Google anything! So there i was the family comic geek arguing with civilians over the answer on the card!
Your credentials are better @WillC , I admit to being informed via TV rather than comics but at least they agree
. Did you argue well enough to get your colour block back in the day?
No i had to abide by the answer on the card! I am old enough to have seen Superman The Movie at the cinema in 1978! Had been reading the comics well before that! So i think i was qualified to know the correct answer!
On a related note…read this week that the chap who played Aquaman in Smallville was virtually guaranteed the role of Thor, and he f****d up his audition and Chris Hemsworth got it.
Outrageous!
The rules is the rules!
We have a better quiz master here!
