I’ve set the Default_Marking_Stringency value to ‘Friendly’. ![]()
I’ll give @WillC and @Ace12345 a little mention for a last chance to check their scores before I declare an official winner. ![]()

You are one clever cookie.
And thanks to @Ian_Chimp for all the hard work that went in! I had a lot of fun ![]()
I’m honestly surprised by my score, i was expecting like half that, if not lower ![]()
Well done @VanillaWithSprinkles anyway, you did amazingly.
If you need any filler questions for the next one @Ian_Chimp i think i’ve got some good ones, especially regarding Greek mythology (had a bit of a research binge recently)
Was a great quiz @Ian_Chimp , thanks very muchly and congratulations @VanillaWithSprinkles - superb answering!
Ooh, studied Classics GCSE and my name states I’m the Greek Goddess of Seduction
… give us a (fairly basic) Greek mythology quiz @Ace12345 ![]()
If people are interested i’ve got 6 ok questions i can post this weekend (or i can wait and add a round to @Ian_Chimp’s hump day quiz if that’d be preferred, i don’t mind).
They could possibly be a little specialist but even without actually knowing most are very guessable from very basic mythology knowledge (and also have quite a lot of opportunities for bonus points - plus some of the stuff is genuinely really interesting)
Ooh whatever suits you @Ace12345 don’t suppose there’s Norse mythology in there? ![]()
The Great Hump Day Quiz (![]()
) is all old trivial pursuit questions, so you may be better off doing anything else separately. It’ll give the topic a bit more variety too. ![]()
If I accidentally answer in Roman can I have half points? ![]()
@MsSubExperimenter Sorry just Greek in this set though i may look into doing more sets from some other areas of mythology, there’s so much info in all of them.
And ok @Ian_Chimp
i’ll credit most Roman answers. I think i might post it tomorrow then as a little weekend one then
Ok i figured i post it now as I’m likely to oversleep, this way people can have a look when they want.
-
Who is Helen of Troy’s father? (bonus point for naming the myth regarding her conception or her mother, it’s actually quite a well known myth though most people don’t realise she is one of the children conceived)
-
What is the original name if Persephone? (bonus if you know the meaning of her old or new name)
-
In most versions of the myth (ie the ones where she began human and became a gorgon) who cursed Medusa?
-
Who is the only member of the original pantheon not born directly from the line of Kronos? (ie is not his child or grandchild)
-
Name 2 rivers in the underworld (there are 6 i believe so a few options, though i think most people will have one common answer)
-
In some versions of mythology, who created the sirens? (bonus point if you can name the myth this is part of, it’s honestly probably the MOST famous Greek myth)
-
Which god is considered by many to have never had any children (and also 1 of the few with no known affairs)? (His wife has children but it’s generally believed they are not his, due to a rumoured curse from the one who is actually the children’s father)
-
Name the 3 virgin goddesses.
-
In the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, what killed Eurydice?
-
What was the role of Lachesis? (half a point if you name the collective title she holds with her sisters)
I think I know two. ![]()
My Answers to Greek Mythology ⚡👑💀🌊💗📖⚒✉⚔🌿☀️🌙
- Zeus and Leda are her parents - Leda was raped by a swan! How unfortunate and biologically implausible
- Persephone means bringer of death which is unfair since she escapes death and brings growth and harvest each year
. Don’t know her previous name. - Athene/Athena for shagging Poseidon in her temple
- Can eliminate some… of those left, Hefaestus? Guess.
- The Styx and I can’t think of another name though I know there’s one about forgetfulness which seems apt.
- Hera? She created a lot of monsters. No idea what myth their origin story is in but there’s a chapter about them failing to lure Odysseus in the Odyssey though that would probably put them as created by Poseidon?
- Hades
- Artimus, Hestia and Athene/Athena
- Don’t know, know he looked back though as they were leaving the underworld so she didn’t return to life.
- She was one of the fates, don’t know which though… one spins, one measures, one cuts… let’s say she measures.
Enjoyed that, love Greek mythology… harder than I expected though because I thought I knew a lot about the subject! ![]()
Edited to change emojis in title so no spoiler - sorry @Ian_Chimp ! ![]()
Is that
another spoiler? ![]()
Surely not… Just a representation of a God as there aren’t many specific Greek Myth emojis. Want me to change it?
Okay editing to try and represent each of the main Gods with one emoji… it becomes a long title…
