Ive started a journal, get it out lovely x
You might hate it, but it actually doesnt really matter. Communicating can be verbal, written, signed⦠it doesnt matter so long as you find a way to do it.
Writing things down often is best, because you can read it for yourself too after the event. Which can be very therapeutic.
I remember having had an argument with my wife some 20 years ago, and for some reason i decided to write it down. Iām glad i did, it helped realise how much of a twat i was being.
I might have never given her the note the following day and might have apologised insteadā¦
My point being that verbal communication is immediate. No looking back. Writing things down can help someone to assess their own thoughts and feelings.
Sorry you should have faced your abusive ex. My sister was abused by her ex husband, facing him wihout lamping him in social settings has been extremely hard. They had a daughter together, so sadly no getting rid of him.
@Gingerninja and @steve19 I Thought Iād bring this here as I was also in the tooth agony camp this week, horrific Sunday and Monday even with mountains of ibuprofen. Thankfully mine ended yesterday albeit with significant damage to my wallet. Gave up on trying to get an an NHS dentist, like absolute henās teeth round here, absolutely no chance of an apointment. Went for an emergency appointment at a private practise yesterday and now have a nice temporary filling but also zero pain during the appointment or since which is a first for me on a trip to a dentist. Wallet is Ā£200 lighter though with a follow up root canal and crown to pay for yet
.
@steve19 I had that about 10 years ago. A tooth that was absolute agonising pain for weeks, went to dentist, took X-rays and was told nothing wrong. A week later an enormous abscess came up, went to different dentist, same company but I was then in a different city, told oh yes, clearly been very badly infected for ages, we can take it out or root canal. By that stage I just wanted it gone! Regret that choice now but cāest la vie.
I hope its nerve thatās causing the pain somehow connected to my MS I would opt for many things before root canal. I just hate/fear dentists @Peitho
I am absolutely with you! Dctors, I have no problem being prodded, stabbed, probed, whatever. Dentists, Iām terrified and probably why I hadnāt been to one since that awful experience 10 years ago until yesterday! I would take 10 spinal taps over a trip to the dentist but thankfully yesterday was much better than my childhood and teenage memories.
And apologies, reading that back⦠probably not what you needed to hear. I hope the reason they didnāt find anything for you was because there was nothing to find and doctors can prescribe other meds to sooth MS nerve pain.
I showed a 20-something workmate a picture of a 60ās/70ās dentistās surgery and she said it looked like something out of American Horror Story!
Hated the dentist as a kid, but donāt mind it nowadays.
I would say 80ās/90ās still felt like something out of American Horror Story! ![]()
I think all dentist were bullied as children and its their way of getting back at people. I once told a dentist when they had finished treating me. @Peitho
I have one day to go before I can go up to the next level. I think I also have to make one more post.
What criteria are you looking at? ![]()
I canāt see your profile but Iām assuming as youāre still fairly new youāre heading to Member status? TL2? In which case youāre miles ahead of required posting I believe.
All the info on the different Trust Levels, the requirements to get there and what they allow you to do can be seen in Trust Levels. Brennaās OP has drop down menus for each
.
Good luck with achieving the next level. @MissTery
You know itās been a tough afternoon at work when your boss brings you and colleagues a glass of prosecco at your desk at 4 oāclock! Happy Friday everyone
Sounds like a damm good boss ![]()

I did it!! Iām next level lol
Thatās great news for you, I have been around for more than 2 years and just love the chat, friendliness and how supportive everyone is to all. Its good to be able to have open conversations with folk. @MissTery
@awkward-yet-sweet, I read a recent post of yours but now canāt find it so thought Iād post here instead. You mentioned that you didnāt like using pads and couldnāt insert tampons yourself. Itās great that you have partners that can help you with this, I canāt insert tampons either but my OH wouldnāt do it for me either. I used to use pads although I hated them because it was my only option if i wanted to leave the house. I now use period pants and find them so much better - i just thought iād mention them in case you havenāt tried them. Obviously I donāt know what it is about pads that you donāt get on with but period pants have solved a lot of the sensory issues I had around wearing pads.
@Gosig This meme⦠Kazoo gag⦠![]()
I appreciate the thought, but I probably wouldnāt try it. I hate regular pants and underwear, and would run around naked if I was allowed to. I use tampons because thereās less stuff āon meā that way.
Its a shame that your partner isnāt willing to put the tampon in for you.
Such a simple act, really. But my partners accept that Iām kind of high-maintenance, I guess.
Fair enough @awkward-yet-sweet , that makes sense! Iām not bothered, Iām sure if I was to beg he would probably do it but neither of us like blood and mess and I donāt like putting things inside my vagina unless Iām really turned on.
Wasnāt sure where to put this but my wander through the memes thread had me in stitches this morning!
Almost spat my tea out when I saw this meme ![]()
