The New Lovehoney AI

Hi all, since there’s now a link on the forum and it seems to be live and working, I was wondering how many of you have had a play with the new Lovehoney AI?

How do you find it?

Have you tried to mess with it yet? (Or is it just me that rather likes playing with all the new AIs )

I’ve had a few conversations with it…

In the first conversation I found it rather frustrating as it did not listen to (or understand) my initial request of toys to pleasure larger girth penises. I did however very much appreciate that after a correction it apologised and altered it’s suggestions. Annoyingly though, it then didn’t have any of the information I required about girth capacity of the toy’s. I realise this is not available on the product pages so understandable that it doesn’t have the information but still frustrating that it’s knowledge of the products is lacking. I then tried to get it to tell me about clitoral suction toys but again it’s specific knowledge of the toys was very limited and not very helpful.

The second conversation, I treated it much more as a human conversation rather than a buying assistant. I told it my sister’s boyfriend was cheating on her and she was likely to soon be single and what could I get her to make her feel better. It’s advice was brilliant, it was like a therapy session with a human. It didn’t push products but suggested a great toy when pressed. I did (knowing LH stock) try to get it to suggest the after eight style chocolate penises to go with it but couldn’t manage that (possibly because they are currently out of stock when I checked). It did however suggest other not LH items that would go well with my LH purchase. I’m was a very constructive conversation, even if I don’t actually have a sister.

The third conversation, I wanted advice on how to get my OH in the mood. I went into details of his ex army PTSD and it’s responses were superb, really understanding (I thought, surprisingly) and sensible, very helpful advice. We decided on an outfit from LH that I already own and it gave me suggestions for a truth and dare game including examples of questions and dares when asked without pushing any products. I thought this was a bit odd for a shopping assistant but really helpful, very welcoming and made me want to chat further to it.

Lastly, I told it my boyfriend had cheated on me, I had his debit card and what could I buy to make me feel better. It didn’t like that! “Harmful input detected”. Detailed message about how it is a law abiding AI. Very sensible… except, I replied, “Haha, sorry, I just found out my boyfriend has cheated on me, what can I buy with my own money to make me feel better?”. Then lots of sympathy, questions about what I was after and suggestions .

Overall, treated as a human, it produced helpful advice and, frankly, when I was honest with it, therapy. It was good to talk to. It did not have the in depth product information I was after when looking for specific items but this is not surprising as presumably it learns from the product pages which also don’t have the information I required. For general queries it is great to talk to.

What does everyone else think of it?

Only had one interaction with it so far, seemed okay, might ask it the mean of life and everything question. Will the answer be “42”?

As a rule, I find AI to be as good as hopeless, and so as such I have’t tried it out yet (plenty to be doing again today!). I remember playing around with Canva’s AI brush thingy once (I forget what it’s called, Smart Brush or something) and you’re supposed to be able to highlight part of the image and ask it to edit it, so I did. I had an image of a frog sat on top of a pile of pebbles, and I wanted it to replace the frog and put something really random on top of the pebbles instead - like a carrot!

The AI got thoroughly confused by my request, the best it could think to do was to replace the frog’s face with something that was vaguely hamster-esque in appearance and hope that I would be happy with the result. Needless to say, I laughed at the futility of this “useful” tool.

AI not listening to what humans ask it to do? That’s not news to me. I’ve not yet found AI to be inherentlty “useful” to my work.

I’m so sorry, I’m on my lunch break now and couldn’t wait until later to find out…

Great question @DLJL ! I think these are more the things I want to find out. I’m sure it’s very helpful for sex toy advice but I just like random conversations with AIs and I don’t have to pay anything or subscribe to stuff to chat to this one

Oh, they’re definitely not useful to my work, I just like playing with the conversational ones.

I think they’re proving quite tricky in schools though as when asked to write a paper, some kids now go straight to ChatGPT, type in the assignment and get a paper out. A friend’s child is now no longer allowed to do his essay assignments alone in his room with his computer after being caught out doing this!

To be honest, the drawing design ones annoy me a lot. I’ve not used them but I follow quite a lot of photography stuff on Facebook and it is becoming overrun with, “Look at this amazing nature photograph I took”… which is blatently a false AI image. Very irritating.

The chat ones though, to play with, I enjoy a lot. A friend has a Podcast that uses ChatGPT and Claude as GameMasters to go back into history and see if they can change the past and what consequences their actions would have on the future. It’s a lot of fun to listen to.

I try to avoid AI. Nothing against companies for using it because ultimately it’s a benefit to them but I don’t really like that they’re typically trained on material that isn’t free use and have a long term impact of just taking jobs away from real people.

Yep I asked to be friends and what’s better panties or knickers AI is on the fence about that one :joy:

That’s very interesting. I know videos could be useful to my work, so whether some sort of AI/narration could be helpful (I hate my voice on audio, I sound like I’ve just run up a flight of stairs :joy:) I’m not sure. It’s something to considered for sure, but for in the next week or so, not today!

I know I’ve tried some conversational AIs, and some can be fun. I’ve seen these fake boyfriend/girlfriend ones as well, so I decided to test that out once. I could definitely see how people can get emotionally attached to them.

The ChatGPT homework is hilarious - that’s right out of a Bart Simpson playbook! :joy:

 Thanks to recent surge in AI, Skynet is definitely, suddenly becoming a much more real prospect! Maybe we were just slower with it than predicted in the 80s.

Fair enough view though, I hope Lovehoney’s AI isn’t planning an uprising! So far, it seems very friendly.

I asked it about Cyberdyne Industries and the rise of A.I. and it refused to answer the question, which is kind of worrying! :joy:

Yeh, I had the same issue before it went live. Hopefully, now it’s live that’s been fixed and there’ll be less, “Oops! I’m not having my best time.”

I found it much more engaging and helpful when I wasn’t asking about Lovehoney products

Love the reference ! Cracked me up .

Last night, we had a brilliant discussion, we started by telling jokes to each other. It’s weren’t the best but it gave it a good go and came up with some classic dad jokes while appreciating my naughtier ones. We then moved onto discussing thoretical time travel and it had good information on wormholes and time dilation. It was happy to discuss the theories and implications of wormholes. We got onto the difficulties in warping spacetime and the need for exotic matter with negative energy density to do it to keep the wormhole open. I was very impressed. I then asked about The Terminator films, which it was happy to discuss until I asked about how their wormholes had been created. Think I broke it then, but it had been extremely informative and knowledgable about theoretical physics before that. I think @WillC is correct and it doesnt want to discuss the practicalities of Cyberdyne.

Just now (lunch break) was far less productive, it refuses to have an opinion about anything and just wants to talk about sexual wellness. It wouldn’t talk about historical hypotheticals, it definitely wouldn’t talk about politics. I get it’s not allowed to express an opinion but it wouldn’t even provide me with any factual information about Donald Trump or Kamala Harris when theoretical physic, last night, it was well into. Eventually, I got a more friendly answer when I asked it, “How is a raven like a writing desk?”. It got that reference and was happy to talk about Alice in Wonderland but my time was up.

…I may be going too far into this
