I personally like it rough to a certain extent, if it hurts like hell and I am uncomfortable for days then thats over the top for me.
Its all about what your needs are, if things dont appeal to you either give them a one off shot and see if it changes your mind so you know for sure your not missing out or just do what you do fancy and forget what others say and do.
