Has anyone repaired and toys themselves? I've had a go at repairing a few of my older ones, I was going to try the soldering iron method, but I've found that a knife heated on a hob or a candle worked better.
Has anyone glued one before? I've looked up glue for rubber, but most of them are anything but medical grade, so I'm reluctant to use them.
What kind of toys and damage are we talking about? Certain types of plastic might be possible to weld with heat or acetone but anything rubber is probably not. Silcone in particular is basically impossible to mend.
Personally id recycle them and call it a day. Finding a glue thats safe for internal use would be nearly impossible id imagine. I suppose you might be able to heat weld the the TPR like you said but it would be tricky getting a smooth joint.
Maybe someone else will have some more experiance of rubber repairs, Ive never had much luck working with them.
Are we talking male masturbators here? Because surely the core issue would be that the glued bit wouldn't be able to stretch so it would just tear again. The type of glue isn't going to make a difference to that. Not to mention isn't going to solve the issue that caused the tear in the first place, be that weak/old material, too small an opening or whatever.
I would also call it a day, if they are older toys they've probably just come to the end of their lifespan.
