Toy storage

Our you collection is growing. We used to store our toys in an old shoe box :face_with_hand_over_mouth: but now we need a bigger box. What do you store your toys in? I need some recommendations please! Possibly something that locks… We have kiddos. Don’t need them stumbling across anything

We use the blacked out storage boxes with the clips big ones about 20cm tall 45cm wide and 60cm long. They slide under the bed and you can’t see what’s in them. You could drill a hole both sides where the lid sits and put a small combination lock either side. Cost effective way especially if you have a lot of toys like us (4 full boxes)

We use a load of plastic baskets zip tied together under the bed.

Need to try get a better box for them as some attract dust under there but it’s been working for a couple years

We hang floggers/crops/caneson hooks on fhe back of a wardrobe door and have a 5-drawer unit at the end of the bed with the smaller stuff in, plus a “grab bag” of “essentials” (velcro cuffs, blindfold, bullet vibe, lube) bung up beside the headboard for those nights when we just want something to hand :joy:

But our “son” doesn’t have opposable thumbs, so…

Under the bed for quick access or above the wardrobe for lingerie / costumes / rarely used toys

I’ve heard toolbox’s are great for storing and you can padlock them to!

We have recent moved over to ‘really useful boxes’ under the bed as I’m fed up of the dust and crap down there sticking to half the toys and so on!

See my profile picture? See that it’s a dresser? That’s what we store our sex toys in.

Initially it was a box, then it was an ottoman/bench, now it’s a dresser with boxes and dividers and all sorts of things…and even then I am starting to run out of space and will probably have to buy another dresser

As for the second part of your question…I actually have had my toddler run out to the living room (WHILE FAMILY GUESTS WERE OVER) waving around a whip they found in our dresser because they thought it was a fun toy.

We have since put the more “sensitive” toys out of reach at the top drawers of the dressers

We have a large underbed IKEA storage box - it’s fabric and zips closed but could be lockable with a small padlock.

As for massive liberator/LH shapes, wedges and our stockade, they are harder to hide

A vanity case (I think) Which is like a small matching suitcase to me for makeup.

Looks discrete. Locks and the kids think it’s part of the travelling bags.

We use a plastic toolbox, can lock using loops. Also has compartments on the top for charging cables.

Our bed has one large drawer built into it at the foot end. We have several small black plastic storage tubs in there for each “category”. I wanted to label them so we didn’t have to go rummaging around in the heat of the moment but then it looses the inconspicuous look it currently has.

Of course curious minds and fingers could easily open them but we make sure the drawer is never opened with the kids (almost 5 and 2) around so they shouldn’t have any reason to go looking. If any adults go looking in there then good luck to them! Lol

Funny story…

Going back a good few years now when I was starting to explore toys after splitting up with my husband. I have 3 young children in the house so I stored my handful of toys in a coded safe (probably abit extreme, however if I ever had a house fire they would survive lol).
I got into a new relationship so the toys didn’t see the light of day for awhile however one day I felt the need so went to the safe to discover that the batteries had run out. Not a problem I thought I have a manual override key, however the key decided nope I don’t want to work & it broke in the lock.
For years it stayed under the bed with no way inside, I did eventually take it to the tip. I do wonder if any of the workers saw the safe & thought lets crack this open might be something valuable inside lol

Had the same scenario. But I was determined to recover the bathmate. Only took half hour to drill into it. I could provide it as a service. Argos sold safes only.

We have most of our toys under the bed in a storage box, and a few favourite ones (wifes toys) in her bed table

We have an ottoman! Gave it a clear out last night, plan to fill it up some more!

I have an Ikea Malm dresser (almost) solely for my toys. One drawer for chargers, one for clit toys, one for rabbits, one for internal toys ad one for lube and supplies.

One thing to consider is making sure your rubber/pvc/silicon items are separated by cloth. They will melt each other! You can get bags here from Lovehoney but you can also have some…fun…with once from your neighborhood online retailer. I found bags meant for party favors with “Best Day Ever!” printed on them. Also “I Solemnly Swear I am Up to No Good” “Mischief Managed” “Happily Ever After” “Regret Nothing” and more.
