Turn Offs

So we’ve had plenty of topics about what gets us going, from accents to lingerie, from porn to what some may class as taboo.

But what does the opposite for you? What’s the thing that really ruins the mood or puts you completely off a potential partner?

Socks, bad breath, fluff on the end of his penis

What about socks, cheesy socks, holed socks, socks in bed?

Bad breath I get.

Fluff on his penis, I thought that was just belly buttons :joy:

It’s personality traits for me. And I have in mind someone who I think is the biggest turn off. Someone who is angry and can’t control their temper or their own behaviour. Controlling, manipulative, insecure, bullying, disrespectful, ungrateful. That’s the biggest turn off.

Huge turn off also, and I’ve experienced this myself, is someone running down my appearance, i.e too fat too thin et cetera.

I’m not a person overly concerned with how someone looks, as in more their personality in the way they make me feel, they’re the biggest turns on.

Also a big turn off is someone who is smug and in love with himself.

Poor hygiene, not being tidy and presentable.

Putting pressure on me to engaging in sex acts I don’t want to do.

Just a few things I can think of, there’s probably a lot more! X

Bad breath definitely he knows not to eat anything spicey and we both brush our teeth before.

Him being in a bad mood now that is a complete turn off..

Rude manners, personality, inflated self worth

Unpleasant hygiene

Smokers for me. Won’t kiss them or engage in them giving me oral.

People who only talk obout themselves and never engage with others unless it’s to turn the conversation back round to them.so boring and rude, i find that the person in the room speaking the most is actually the one saying the least .

Someone obsessed with online presence. I get people live on their phones now, HOWEVER, when someone cannot go a few hours without phone in hand or can’t enjoy the moment without having to document it, no thank you. One of the most precious things someone can give is their time and attention, even if it’s sitting having a goofy chat or just being present with one another, if that has to involve turning it into a post, or ‘hold on a minute, let me check *socials/phone* first’, I’d rather they just go do what they want and I’ll do my own thing.

So true!! I’ve given up talking with several family members because as soon as I sit with them they pick up the phone and I just walk off now and then it’s ‘oh you’re being so quiet…’

● Having zero respect for others - including not using please and thank you. Basic manners are unfortunately missing a lot these days.

  • Not cleaning the bath out after yourself.
  • Keeping secrets from a partner.
  • Not emptying the crumb tray under the toaster.
  • Leaving clothes on the floor when it takes no effort to pop them in the basket. Sigh

● Lying - then making it worse by doubling down when caught. Argh.

I’m sure I could mention more..

Huge turn off for me, a partner or potential one who is vain, and cannot have an intelligent conversation about anything. And, also, someone who is completely tuned out, not showing any passion or emotion while making love, or faking any emotion. “ Oh baby you’re soooo big “ yawn !

I would put lying, Smokers and those that hate dogs at the top of my list.

Nice and simple way to keep me happy and engaged.

People that don t like dogs make me suspicious. When I was living with parents they had two rough collies and I always felt safe with them when out for a walk in the woods as they were very protective of the family.

Who doesn’t like dogs… that’s not a turn off, that’s just odd in general
