I’ve just seen a product review on the LH website that left me shaking my head and saying “Somebody’s taking the mick here.” To me it seemed obvious that this was not genuine. And yet it must have been approved by the review moderators or it wouldn’t be there. Go figure…
I’d rather not link to it here, for obvious reasons, but is there any way I can bring it to the attention of LH staff for reconsideration? It really does read like someone’s being a bit of a troll…
@Ian_Chimp - The reason I don’t want to link it is that, for all I know, the author may be a member here. Not willing to handle that confrontation, thanks.
Maybe an email to Customer Care would be better then.
Though they often make editing mistakes when publishing reviews (tagging on random paragraphs from other reviews, for instance), so it may be that? Or a review linked to the wrong product? But without knowing what you’re talking about it’s hard to say.
It’s not possible for me to describe exactly what has set my joker alarm off. Suffice to say that it reads like a joke review written by a troll. Shall contact customer care - though I’m not sure that’s the right department to be honest: it’s the webmasters I want to talk to.
@Ace12345 - that is not the product review I’m on about.
I was actually incredibly disappointed that it didn’t win Review of the Month. Not even the £4 (but £5 if you include the accompanying review discount) runner up prize.
Lovehoney are in a difficult position with reviews as the more they censor, the less people will trust in them. No item will ever be universally successful so how do you determine who is writing of their genuine experience (and maybe exaggerating their point) and who is just trolling?
I do understand your concern, I’ve read a lot of reviews that I’ve felt that maybe they shouldn’t have been published for a variety of reasons (bad information, seemingly using the product wrong, not really understanding what the product should do, complaining that the item does exactly what it says on the tin, not even using the product just reviewing to say they’ve received it and it looks nice, hell I read a review years ago basically saying “this looks cool, I’d love someone to buy it for me”). However, that’s part of having a review system that is open to anyone. You get some great reviews, some mediocre reviews, some terrible reviews and some people leaving joke/inappropriate reviews.
I can confirm this is definitely a genuine review and I did rather enjoy writing it! Trialed harder than most of my bondage equipment and still going strong .
Tried to include all useful information.
Without more information @PleasureDrone it’s hard to advise. I would also say just drop Customer Care or Brenna an email. I am intrigued now though!
Sorry, I am missing something? Not sure why everyone is getting upset by a review unless it is a personal attack.
If you think it is a nonsense review just read past it, most others will if it is completely out of whack with what other reviewers are saying.
It is hard without detail to understand what the issue is, how can it be trolling, I thought that was a personal attack against an individual or are they trolling an organisation.
Sorry I can’t offer any more on this, hope LH resolve it for you.
Well, sounds like that was the right thing to do @PleasureDrone, but you have left us all hanging wondering what on Earth it was curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back!!!
I’ve reached for the ‘reply’ button a couple of times when I’ve read reviews. Some online sites do have review comments, but I bet they’d be a bugger to moderate.
