Feel free to use them. Just be prepared to do some extra washing up!
Personally I use only clitoral ones during that particular time of the month. I do, however, suppose that using glass or metal (and perhaps even silicone) ones would be okay, provided you don't mind washing that red-brown gunk off them afterwards.
