Viagra Connect

Over recent months it’s been a bit of a struggle in the bedroom. Getting an erection is taking a bit longer, but maintaining it consistently is the bigger problem. We are still able to enjoy fulfilling sessions as we can use toys when I lose my firmness, which does come back with a bit of stimulation from Mrs E, but it’s obviously not the same and is causing me some angst (which also doesn’t help the situation).
Mrs E has been wonderful as always, and we talked it through.
The fact is I’m late 40’s, stressed at work, less fit than I used to be, heavier than I used to be, not enjoying lockdown etc., so there are a number of factors which have an impact on erection performance. We’ve just ordered a small batch of Viagra Connect online, through a trusted site and would appreciate honest feedback from you guys to understand if the results are generally positive??

It really does depend on your body. I know someone for whom it does absolutely nothing. I also know a few for which it is brilliant and works every time.

You will need some experimentation, to find out when it works (eg so you don’t start shagging too early or too late), and then adjust your play to account for the time between taking it and starting.

But overall, it is definitely worth a try, and could re-invigorate your sex life.

Thank you @steve19

It certainly works for me, my circumstances are similar to yours although I’m 56, I’m totally solo in the bedroom now, once taken a tablet, takes about an hour to work, but I stay very hard to the point of ejaculation, usually can manage to cum twice before effects wear off, usually 4 to 6 hours.

I’m in my late 30s and take sildenafil which is basically a generic name for viagra. I’ve used it about 4 years after being diagnosed with an ED which was the result of a bereavement.
It works incredibly well but for me there are 2 downsides. Firstly, you have to take it prior to sex and as for how long it takes it varies from person to person. For me it takes about 30 mins but can be over an hour for others. So knowing when to take it can be difficult. Secondly, it’s addictive. Seeing your erection after taking one means you’ll notice a difference when you haven’t. My GP never explained this and I basically use it every time now. You need to get advice from a GP because not everyone can take it and in fact it can be dangerous if you have other health conditions. That said, it certainly allows me to have a good sex life. My partner knows I use it but doesn’t complain as I have a huge strong erection every time!

There may well be an underlying medical condition which is adding to your problem and I would encourage you to seek medical advice.

I had a similar problem and, thankfully, I was quickly diagnosed with a low testosterone level (off the bottom of the scale actually).

I was prescribed a hormone replacement gel (Testogel) and generic sildanifil tablets to reastablish my confidence (erectile disfunction can be mental as much as physical). The sildanifil works well for me with a 50mg dose (cialis is less effective for me) but does make me light headed and can leave a slight headache afterwards. It takes about an hour to be fully effective and works best on an empty stomach so you do lose some spontaneity too.

I’ve used them but unlike yourself, I discussed the issues I was having with my GP who satisfied herself that they were both safe and right for me to use.
They can have side effects and if you have any underlying conditions those effects could be serious so I would urge you to speak to a professional first.
I know that reputable online suppliers will insist on you completing a questionnaire prior to your order being processed but that’s a very one sided process.
I’m no expert but I think you’ve probably identified at least three important factors in your original post.
Good luck

My husband, similar age to you, has prostate issues, which I understand is a common cause of erectile disfunction for older men. He tried Viagra (via his GP) but found it gave him terrible headaches. Apparently this is a common side effect. So now he’s using an alternative drug, I think it’s Cialis but I’d have to check.

It’s not ideal for spontaneity because he wants it to have kicked in before we start anything, although I don’t see why it should be if you’re used to having extended foreplay, as it takes about 30 mins. In our case we have kids around all the time at the moment, so spontaneity is out the window anyway. For him, I wouldn’t say it’s 100% effective, in that it doesn’t give him the sort of erection he would have had 10 years ago. However I don’t think penetrative sex would be possible for us without it, so we’re thankful it’s available.

You’re quite right. When I use viagra I take it as, or just before, we start foreplay and by the time we’re ready to get serious everything is up and running nicely .

Hi @Exploringmore,

I don’t have any experience with Viagra myself, however, there was another thread on Viagra which was active recently, which may also be of use to you.

Sorry that I can’t be more helpful…

There was recently an article in the Sunday Times about two fairly young cousins who both had ED and started a website called Mojo to support guys.

As for Viagra itself, have a chat with your doctor, there are various levels of dosage so if a lower strength doesn’t work for you, let your doctor know and try and get the strength increased?

I take sildenafil after being prescribed it by my GP for erectile dysfunction. I myself am 31 but for me its more of a mental issue than physical. It works exceptionally well however its not good for spontaneous sex as it needs an hour to kick in. Taladafil I believe is a daily medication.
I would strongly advise getting a GP to prescribe it as opposed to buying it generally online. As said before it can be quite dangerous with other medications and with certain conditions.

Tadafil can be either ‘on demand’ like sildanafil or as a low dose daily medication if you are sexually active more than 2 or 3 times a week.

Tadafil doesn’t work for everyone though. It doesn’t work well for me.

Hi
A big thing to consider with ED is your lifestyle.
Being overworked , stressed and lack of exercise and a poor diet plays a big role and should be considered first before going down the medication option.
Eating healthier and exercising will reap so many benefits to your body and your sex life .
As a personal trainer I’ve had many clients see the rewards in the bedroom.

Thanks all for your genuine advice and sharing of experience. I did consult with a doctor and had an MOT which led to a couple of small lifestyle changes. We have used Viagra for a couple of weeks and the results have been amazing! We both liken the effect to being in our twenties in terms of stiffness and also the duration of our lovemaking. After a period of inconsistent erections, the solidity and consistency of my rod is great (for both of us), it’s almost an impressive sight! The sexual experience is as good as it’s been for years. No major side effects, although there is a minor sinus headache the day after.
We have purchased a quantity of generic sildenafil as it is much less expensive. Will report back on how it goes.
In terms of the impacts, work is still tough but a bit of exercise and a more healthy diet are helping the situation.
Good experience all round!
