Sat watching the on-going tornadoes in the US. Thankfully we don’t experience these things in the UK. It’s devastating ![]()
Been watching them too. I’m a long way south, but my sister is up by them. We’ve been texting and sharing screen image shots with each other. She said it’s letting up for her. A tornado was on the ground like 20 mins from her place a bit ago.
Been through this a lot myself over the decades. I’ve lived in tornado alley a few times. Miss Heather and I are basically on the edge of tornado alley and we are in the worst area in red on a map called “Tornado Risk Map”
A decade or so back when I went to see my kids in their city, they made me drive them like 20 mis out to see the devastation that tornadoes had done to the area, to homes, trees etc.
It’s not something folks should want to see yet my kids made me drive them to go see it, so we did.
I/we have had to take cover many times over the decades. Been lucky so far. The closest a tornado touched down on the ground by a house I lived in was like a mile away from our home. That was too close for my comfort but nothing I could do of course.
Time flies, it was a bit more than 10 years ago, that my kids had me drive to the area to show me the tornado damage.
Here is a blurb about it.
The massive tornado event you are thinking of is the 2011 Super Outbreak. Occurring in April 2011, this devastating series of storms stands as the largest, costliest, and one of the deadliest tornado outbreaks ever recorded in U.S. history.
Multiple violent (EF-4 and EF-5) tornadoes tore directly through Northern Alabama into Southern Tennessee during this event. Notable specific storms include:
-
Hackleburg-Phil Campbell-Huntland Tornado: This massive EF-5 tornado touched down in Marion County, AL, and carved a 107-mile-long path of destruction into Franklin County, TN.
-
Tanner, Alabama Tornadoes: Tanner was uniquely devastated by multiple significant tornadoes on the exact same day.
Here is how bad it was Miss Stacy.
The 2011 Super Outbreak caused 348 total fatalities across the Southern and Eastern United States between April 25 and April 28. This staggering death toll included 324 direct tornado-related fatalities and 24 additional fatalities from related hazards like straight-line winds, hail, and flash flooding.
It was some of that area that my children had me drive them over so I could look at see some of the destruction.

He gives y’all the updates ![]()
I knew the outbreak my kids had me go see was bad but I honestly hadn’t remembered that 348 people lost their lives due to it.
And what I’m currently doing is that I just texted my sister the 2007 version of Led Zeppelin playing Kashmir live. I told her to listen to it and it would make her feel better.
Then she texted back that her ex-husband was there and that blew my mind. I have no words for that.
The garage key snapped in the lock earlier and I couldn’t remove it so I bought a new lock and some bolt cutters from B&Q. It’s a small win (or big for me) but I managed to cut the lock so I’ve just loaded the bikes on the rack because I’m surprising LO with a trip to the seaside tomorrow ![]()

That’s good you didn’t get stuck inside the garage, like a certain someone
![]()
Oops that’s funny
My first thought was the screws and removing the whole thing, but it’s got rounded bolts going to the inside
I needed the car aswell. £50 and doing it myself sure beats a locksmith ![]()
Just finished planting a lilac along with landscaping work . About noon here and pretty warm , 72 in the shade . Now nude sunbathing , followed by a dip in pond . Yesterday water was 65f .
I I have lived in South Dakota and saw a number of tornados . Here in Washington State we have earthquakes and volcanoes . People in both places ask “ aren’t you afraid ? “ , I explain what you do in either place . You can not hide from an earthquake or volcano .
That sounds much like the people I see stopping under motorway bridges during hail in the US @Oldman - A car windscreen smashing or the possibility of lorry (semi) smashing you at high-speed. I know which I’m picking ![]()
Yeah , the last thing you do is stop under an overpass , makes a Venturi effect . I was out plowing a field and the boss called. me on the radio and said there was a tornado near my location . I took the plow out of the path and dropped it back in with tractor straddling the edge of the last pass . Shut the tractor down and laid in the deeper cut under the tractor . Tornado passed about 100 yards away , it got windy ! Twice I chased tornados while riding motorcycles . Remember multiple earthquakes , no place to hide . Watched Mount St Helen’s eruption , pretty wild .

The garden door is open at the mo @Latino_Caliente I just couldn’t shut this lovely weather out and nobody can see in our door (except of course any pussies that meander past
) love xxx
Ah Pen has a very high-powered job so she does her dancing evenings to help dump mental stress, @paulsballs she does build up a sweat and I just cannot stay with her at times… she says it dumps the stress but physically tires her, so that is why she has a lay-in on Saturdays love xxx
Hope you both @Latino_Caliente @paulsballs and everybody else have great weekends darlings, but stay safe please All xxxx

That did make me laugh Mrs @Wurger … I am always in that position of pussies meandering past or on the bed!
