However, I find it kinkier to have each hand tied to opposite bedposts rather than together. These handcuffs, like many others, have the little clips in the middle so you can attach them to other things. These wouldnt be big enough to go around my bedposts (although I'm working on a solution to this), and I dont imagine anyone elses, so I'm just wondering what other things people use these clips to attach to?
Well you could do anything really. Buy a couple of eyes, I mean little loops you can screw into wood, not body parts, and if you attached them to a wooden pole you could effectively build one of these.
My solution was to get some of those little plastic bracelets that were all the rage about 10 years years ago, they're usually neon and about 10p each. I was thinking wrap them around my bedpost in a loop knot then clipping the handcuffs to them. I dont know if they'll be strong enough to hold me, but if they're not then it's only 20p wasted.
I've had a look at spreader bars and the idea seems interesting, even though we're only doing wrist restraints at the moment. I never thought of making one myself though, but now you mention it I bet it's so easy! A broom handle would probably do the trick, I reckon I probably have one of those in my shed! Thanks for the idea GrayMatter, I'll keep that one filed away for later!
I used leather thongs to tie my cuffs to the bed posts. And OH has just made a spreader bar! Yet to try it out properly but he seemed to be enjoying it far too much on a practice run. We just used a wooden pole and eyelets - gonna paint it black maybe if we like it. And if we like it then we can perhaps invest in a sexier one.
Question to those who've used spreader bars, do you find they get in the way?
Hiya Ecksvie. I and my OH use spreader bars. They don't get in the way at all. Depends how you use them of course! We have over the door restraints so cuff the wrists up high either facing forwards or backwards, spreader bar seperating the ankles and let the flogging begin. . . .just one idea.
Get some chain from B&Q and use the hooks onto that to make it big enough to go through/around slats in a headboard.
Thats what we did, works a treat and you fasten them so the chain has as much or as little give as you choose depending on how mean you want to be External Media

The cuffs you link to are handy as they have the clips, so you have quite a few ways of attaching them to things. As far as the bed goes it depends on your style of bed and if you want something permanently attached to the bed or not. You can screw chunky screw eyes (from any DIY shop) into bed posts but if you dont want to screw something into your expensive bedframe you can used quite a few temp measures, loops of rope, short bits of chain around the bedpost and joined with the clip on the cuffs, cheap belts cut short and buckled around the posts...
Lovehoney sell all sorts of clips that come in very handy such as
But while your in B&Q buying some screw eye's or chain have a look in the hooks/clips section, you'll be surprised what you can find there thats very handy and quite cheap
One thing I would say is if your attaching arms to a bedpost do so flat against the bed as if you raise your arms and tie them to the top of the bed posts you get dead arms very quickly lol
