My GF said she wants me to surprise her with some lingerie to make things in our relationship more intresting. She suggested something like a wet look catsuit or something or something with that wet look but she is vegan and stated she wanted it to be EXPLICITLY vegan like it couldnt just be faux leather because apparently some faux is a mix of leather and faux to reinforce it but I cant find anything like a catsuit or much wetlook lingerie at all thats vegan is there anyone who knows how to contact the companies to find out or how I go about finding explicitly vegan lingerie. Thanks
Hi
I imagine you would have to go onto each company’s website and use the “Contact Us” option if it’s not stated on their website?
Alternatively you could search online for what you’re looking for, it might be something that a small independent seller is more likely to make.
Good luck.
Explicitly vegan will be trickier, but vegan without the tag is plenty doable. My wife and i have been for the better part of a decade at this point. Key things to avoid are-
Faux fur can indeed be mixed with real fur but this is rare. Doesn’t help with online shopping but you can look closely at the fibres to see if they are square or rounded edges. Real fur tends to be rounded, faux is more machine made.
Faux leather can also be real leather but again this would be extremely rare. If the surface on both sides is very consistent, it’s likely faux leather.
Glues can be animal derived and you likely won’t know without contacting the manufacturer on this one. Pain is the ass. Look for something sewn rather than glued.
Silk comes from cocoons, shame as i like the idea of silk. Satin is a decent alternative here though.
PVC is vegan in as much as it doesn’t contain any animal products, but is petrol based so i know that would be a deal breaker for some who are more eco conscious.
Best bet would be something in cotton, satin or lace and if you want the wet look catsuit, PVC. Unless you go to a specifically vegan competitor or reach out to customer service, unfortunately you will struggle to find much that is explicitly vegan marked though.
For contacting companies just use their normal “contact us” option to speak to customer service.
In my experience most companies will boast if the products are real leather, as it’s a selling point for most, so faux leather or PVC are normally safe. Also consider price as real leather will be more expensive than man-made.
I’ve never contacted LH directly about it but I have a lot of their satin and PVC lingerie and would recommend.
I hope you can find something lovely for your wife ![]()

If you are buying online in the UK, websites are required to add the material compositions to the product page, so that will help in terms of the actual material.
The word “faux” in front of leather used to be a dirty word but these days it is a selling point. There isn’t a benefit to saying something is faux leather and then adding real leather to it. Same goes for any animal derived fabric.
That being said, finding clothing that is guaranteed to be vegan will be extremely hard. Whilst it should be easy to avoid the fabric itself being derived from animals, things like glue and dye still use animal products. It is highly unlikely that the company you buy from manufactured absolutely everything, completely from scratch themselves, so I would be surprised if they would be willing to guarantee the item is 100% vegan. And then add on the product packaging, the delivery box etc. That doesn’t mean that the item isn’t vegan, just that the retailer isn’t likely to want to confirm it as supply chains can be pretty long, so unless they have a contract directly with the factory which guarantees it, it can be impossible to trace back each step in the process.
You’d need to look at the manufacturers label on the garment to see what it’s made up of as they’d have to state if it’d got any real leather on it…
A lot of wet look body suits and lingerie tend to be a blend with elastin in it for stretch so you’d probably find them to be more like a Lycra coated in pvc to give the leather or shiny wet look…
