You just reminded me…when we were kids we inherited a load of old singles from the 50’s and 60’s and my sister drove me batty constantly playing on repeat Stupid Cupid by Connie Francis! ![]()
Wow! Now I bet you feel even older ![]()
Bet you said set me free ![]()
Hello Mary Lou - Ricky Nelson
Buried alive by love - HIM
Uncover - Zara Larsson
Solider of fortune - Deep Purple.
@WillC maybe you will understand when I say I thought it was Dio singing this.
Very softly sung and sounded like his Rainbow days.
I was doing some work and had it on in background, but would have laid money on it being RJD and not Purple.
I know exactly what you mean. It may be because it’s very similar to Catch The Rainbow from the first Rainbow album? Either way David Coverdale had a fantastic voice in those days!
If you like Ronnie Dio have you ever heard Love Is All from The Butterfly Ball album? I loved the song as a kid and the cartoon video, and never knew it was Dio singing it until I was in my 40’s!
Love Dio’s voice, wether in Rainbow, Black Sabbath or Dio! There’s some interesting stuff on YouTube just put Ronnie and the Redcaps An Angel Is Missing into the search!
@WillC glad you know what I am on about as I was talking to the radio where I was shocked.
Dio had one of the most amazing voices and I love Stargazer from Rainbow and his Sabbath stuff is just incredible.
Haven’t heard that song but will check it out.
I bought the Dio tribute album a few years ago and that has some great covers on there from Metallica, Anthrax, Corey Taylor etc.
Have you heard it?
Yes, but they’re not a patch on Dio! ![]()
I agree, it’s no surprise that Rainbow Rising, Heaven and Hell and Holy Diver are considered classic albums.
He’s one of my favourite singers along with Freddie Mercury, Rob Halford and Geoff Tate.
Africa - Toto
Everybody wants to rule the world - Tears for fears
Stone Cold-Rainbow
Sorry for asking @WillC but do you have a favourite Fleetwood Mac song? Or top 3 ![]()
Lovehunter - Whitesnake
Yes number 1 is Little Lies, 2nd The Chain, 3rd Go Your Own Way.
Love the backing vocals on Little Lies, it’s a sing along in the car song!
I really struggle doing a top 3
Seven Wonders is such a great song aswell @WillC
There’s quite a few i like, but those are my favourites! As a kid at infant school in “music and movement” we had to lie on the floor listening to Albatross by Fleetwood Mac and imagine we were clouds! ![]()
Blimey I remember “music and movement “ ![]()
We didn’t get anything as class as Fleetwood Mac though, just some dreary stuff we’d never heard of!
