Whether, wearing them myself, although I am male, or seeing other people wearing them?
I know the feel and smell beautiful and also look shiny when tight!

The old joke is that men like leather skirts as they smell like the interior of a new car!

I have never heard that one before. I like leather skirts because they are usually short.
The real question might be, what senses arose you? Is it the way a leather skirt looks? Or smells? Or is it how it feels? 
They aren’t sexy to me but if you and your partner think they are then I guess that is all that matters and then rest of us can look away
Not just skirts. Anything leather or wet look for me is a massive turn on
