What do real people think of the way we’re being treated? I’m new to the community, but I’m a big fan, love to review and rewards are being reduced, and the forum/website is being restricted too.

With the new website, it’s been a bit patchy, and the loyalty stuff feels like it’s all a bit up in the air at the moment. The Unlimited stuff should still work for existing customers, but I’m not sure if they’re enrolling any new ones? And there doesn’t seem to be a 20% off review discount ‘thank you’ now either.
To be honest, I still miss the £20 off £40+ Unlimited voucher.
And those glorious offer emails that turned up every other day. (£30 off £60+, £40 off £80+ - they were a real joy to land in your inbox
). And I think the Deals of the Day used to be 50% off (or more) most of the time, rather than the 30% or 40% now.
I also used to love the ‘20% off two Lovehoney items’ on site offer that you could stack with your Unlimited £20 over £40+. I had so much fun putting baskets together to get just the right deal. ![]()
Now they’ve introduced the offer exclusions too, so a lot of the email offers don’t work with Womanizer, etc.
I mean, they are a business, and they’re ultimately here to make money (and hopefully chuck a few orgasms around while they’re at it
), but I do miss a lot of these things.
I don’t quite understand the question but I feel everyone is treated equally including myself. I don’t feel like anyone has been treated unfairly.
My life is a much happier place thanks to Lovehoney.

Treated in what way? I’m still relatively new but always found people here friendly and inclusive. There are some forum rules but they seem reasonable and helps give a safe feeling to the community.
So my view is everything in the forum here is good.
I’m not a big fan of the new LH website but that’s personal preference I guess.
The new update has gone a bit backwards in regards to reviews and stuff, but hopefully things like that will come back. I really like using the forum. What restrictions do you mean?
Agree with @Ian_Chimp . The sales/deals aren’t as good as they used to be. It’s how I grew my collection so quickly at the start. I also remember the free items you got if you spent over a certain amount, too. Some of them were really good! Great for impulse buys. Their deals are more in line with competitors now, but that 40% birthday discount is still pretty sweet.
I feel you should be getting at least a 15% discount on return service, not just on the first order. Used to get a code when you purchased things for the next item you got. Encourages you to just start more accounts to get the 15% off in my opinion.
Probably my only grip, forum is good, touch restricted, but I understand why it is so.
Can you touch on how the forum is being restricted? So curious and we know what curiosity did to the cat! I’ll stop purring ![]()
I’ve been here 9 years and there have been a lot of changes in those years. Yes, the offers aren’t as good as in previous years but I don’t mind as my collection is just mahoosive so I don’t purchase as much. The free products to review means I’m not so salty about fewer customer loyalties.
The delays in posting pictures, unable to link anything external to HL. But as I said I totally understand why it set up like this. It is a business and business want to make money.
I don’t particularly upload pictures, so wouldn’t know of that issue and never really had to post links either but that’s probably because I suck at using forums ![]()
Just gotta remember that there’s only Brenna moderating the forum and Ian_Chimp goes above and beyond.
Yes I fully understand that things need moderating, a lot of good communities like this can self moderate rather well through the flagging system and so forth, just need to have the technical backing for this to work.

I’m not 100% sure what you mean by “how we’re treated”. I’ve been a Lovehoney customer for over a decade and I’ve seen a lot of changes but I wouldn’t say customers are being treated badly because of it. Some changes have been for the benefit of customers, some haven’t been so great and others kinda even out when you look at the whole picture.
Yes, some amazing offers have disappeared (£20 off £40 unlimited, the 20% off review thank you as well as some email ones). But companies do need to make a profit to keep going. Look at Debenhams. They discounted too heavily, too regularly at Christmas so everyone stopped buying things at full price and waited for them to be reduced, which meant Debenhams had to keep up the trend. Their profits tanked and now they’ve collapsed. Lovehoney have not only survived recession and economic turmoil but have actually grown hugely. Business practices do have to change as companies get bigger.
The returns policy is still the best out there, the offers change far more regularly than they used to and there are plenty of sales, the tester scheme is still functioning and has a fairly low bar to join, delivery options are competitive (and I’m liking the delivery discount which can be applied against any delivery option so I hope they keep that).
I don’t feel there have been many additional restrictions. Yes some brands are now excluded from offers but that is more likely to be at the brand’s request rather than Lovehoney’s choice (Lelo has always been massively strict on retailers over pricing for example).
There has definitely been issues with the website change, but I somehow doubt they were intentional so although customers have been impacted, I think we still need to have a little patience on that one. (Ultimately, they did find a work around for the Unlimited benefits for most people which they could have refused to do).
As for the forum, there is only one photo related restriction that has been added recently (let’s not reopen that can of worms) but otherwise the rules have been fairly stable over the time I’ve been using it.
I still think Lovehoney is probably the best sex toy retailer, at least in the UK. I don’t they are perfect but I don’t think they are deliberately trying to upset customers, but things do change.
Guess it’s just teething issues at the moment with the new website settling in and maybe further down things will be brought back but for now I’d say LH offers plenty more benefits than what other sites would do ![]()
Overall… I’m happy.
Yes, the website did take a knock when the new one came through and the ‘new in’ category took aaaages to reappear, but its all teething issues. I actually quite like the new website now, it’s brighter.
I do agree with the offers, I don’t feel they’re near as good as they used to be, but they are a business and maybe some of the older deals are no longer feasible. This was a godesnd though. The main one I do miss the £20 off £40+ Unlimited voucher
I don’t think the forum is too restricted. I’m not sure what you want it to be, another online flirty chat forum where chat goes too far and people become uncomfortable? I love how it’s a safe space. We can openly chat about sex and upload pictures. The comments are usually always respectful.
If you do have an official complaint, there’s no harm in contacting Lovehoney and putting your comments in an email. I’m sure they do like to hear feedback from customers.
I’m fairly new but I love it. There’s not many safe places that you can chat openly about sex, toys and other stuff that you wouldn’t bring up in general conversation. I haven’t had to create a thread yet but know when I do everyone will be there for advice and opinions. Its also nice to be able to talk to like minded people. Lots of people think their interests/kinks etc are abnormal or shameful. This is a great resource to find out more and know that you are not on your own. I for one in my short time on here have learnt things that I didn’t even know were a thing.
I only recently started using LH toward the end of last year. I think all of the offers and deals they give are plenty. I love waiting to see what deals come up next personally. It’s useful to help push you toward experimenting with something you never thought you would have
In my view there might be two parts to @SoloPeeFun and @Toolman31 posts.
LH has changed dramatically over the years (as @Calie posted - I have been buying for over a decade as well). It used to be that, as a poster, you could compare LH products with others that they didn’t stock in an honest way but that ‘freedom’ was removed some time ago.
To me the forums have changed more to a marketing exercise than a facility to share information but LH are a business and that means maximising their profit, who can blame them?
As for pricing and discounts, I would agree that prices seem to have gone up but you are the consumer and LH are the supplier. They used to have a price match guarantee which I used numerous times but when that stopped …
I am sure they spend a lot of effort deciding their sales strategy and they are a business. As a consumer you get to decide what you want to buy, where and at what price.
I must say I find the site / forum very good. The main LH site is very good and I find the offers etc to be very good. May be single sign on would be good between main site and the forum.
The forum is very good and the rules don’t restrict things and help keep things anonymous. LH don’t need to have a forum and I think we should be grateful they do. It gives a lot of pleasure to people, hopefully it helps sales for them as well. overal I would say well done Lovehoney.
