I'm currently looking for a dildo for my wife. It would be her first. It would be a suprise which I plan to use during our fave role play.
I'm not sure how she will react as she doesn't normally go for insertable toys but the only ones she has tried have always been vibrators etc.
So what do I go for. Somthing similar in size to myself?
Lifelike or not so real?
Colour?

You could ask 100 people on here and get a hundred different answers. I reckon your best bet is to go for something middling in size and inexpensive. If she likes it then come back and get a glass dildo.
It also depends on if you want something for G-spot or not. I would probably recommend something made from silicone and not lifelike, something non threatening if it's her first one. For G-spot I'd suggest something like these that have great reviews :

I would recommend having a look through your wifes rabbits and taking measurements so you know what she finds comfortable too.
I would agree with SumSub, but with some exceptions:
Ask any woman who likes realistic dildos whether or not she likes non-realistic too and the answer is usually "yeah, why not" Ask a woman who likes non-realistic dildos what she thinks of realistic ones and the chances are you will find SOME women who go "No...I like them non anatomical" So, going by this theory, I would recommend getting something non-anatomical to start with and asking her opinion on realistic later.
I would also recommend getting something around about average size. It is possible your lady will enjoy bigger, but it is also possible she will be terrified if you walked in weilding something massive, so play the odds and go for something average (6 to 7 inches long, 4 to 5 inches circumference is a good place to start)
Colour is totally your choice. I don't think it matters a hugeee amount, so long as the product is ideal looking/size. You may want to avoid flesh/skin tones though, at first, just in case.
